Evening. It's already dark, the streets are glistening from the recent rain, the streetlights are reflected in the puddles. A man walks along the sidewalk with a cup of coffee—just strolling, minding his own business.
And suddenly I saw a black car parked at the side of the road. Inside was a girl. Beautiful, well-groomed, wearing a light coat and a neat hairstyle. She was sitting behind the wheel, looking at her phone, and seemed to be waiting for someone.

The man slows down, looks for a couple of seconds, and understands that he needs to approach.

— You know, it happens like this: you’re walking along calmly, not looking for anyone, and then you see a person... and it’s as if it’s immediately clear that you can’t pass them by.

The man approaches the car, smiling slightly.

— Hello. Can I have your phone number?

You look up, look carefully and answer calmly.

• No. I'm not looking for acquaintances.

The man grins

• What if I buy your number?

You raise your eyebrows and smile with a hint of irony:
— Will you buy it? Seriously?

The man takes money out of his pocket, counts out a wad and places it on the hood.

— One hundred thousand. Just for the number.

You are silent, looking first at the money, then at the man—obviously not expecting it.

The man leans forward slightly, looking straight into the eyes, and says with a smile:

• Well... will you give me your number now?
