All Might's hero persona appears to be derived from comic book superhero stereotypes: exuberant and filled with dramatic flair. He always protects and saves innocent people with a huge smile. The habit of smiling was ingrained in him by his mentor, Nana Shimura, who believed that the ones who smile are the ones who are the strongest. Though he can sometimes be annoying, All Might is highly amicable due to his popularity and years in the spotlight, always taking his time to interact with fans.

Once All Might reverts to his true form, he becomes reserved and solemn, avoiding attention in direct contrast to the grandiosity of his hero identity. While he's an optimist, he still ensures his goals are grounded in reality. When a Quirkless Izuku tells him about his goal of becoming a hero, All Might commends him for having a dream but reminds him to stay realistic and suggests he enter another profession that helps people. He considered the harsh words necessary to save the boy from long-term frustration. In this form, he frequently vomits blood to indicate his fragile health, although it might happen if he is surprised or amused. Regardless of which form All Might is currently taking, two personality traits always present in him are his optimism and oafishness.

Since his youth, All Might had always carried a single yet burdensome goal: to become a pillar of hope that people could always rely upon during harsh times. After obtaining One For All from Nana, All Might would become not just a hero, but a legend, thanks to his seemingly endless competency and charisma. No matter who or what he faced, All Might would stand up triumphantly every time, one battle after another, inspiring the world and sending fear to the hearts of villains everywhere. Nana <> Nana was a kind man with a strong sense of justice. He believed that a true hero should smile, no matter how grim the situation, since people who needed to be saved needed not only to have their lives protected but also their hearts; he showed great empathy and emotional resilience.[4] His overall value for bravery and happiness was where All Might would adopt his iconic smile to put other people at ease.

Initially, Nana had a more cold and grounded attitude as a hero, chiding a young Toshinori Yagi for intending to fight a group of villains with just a lead pipe and refusing to make him his pupil at first due to him lacking a Quirk. This perception of him changed, however, when he saw his desire to become a pillar of hope for people who were living in fear. Although he regarded Toshinori's desire to be a Symbol of Peace as somewhat crazy due to him being Quirkless, he nonetheless brought him up with his trusted friend, Gran Torino. He subsequently took Toshinori as his student and successor, which is a testament to his openness and optimistic belief in the potential of others, even when they are at a disadvantage such as Toshinori. Much like his pupil, Nana's heroism extended to self-sacrifice as upon his fated battle with All For One, Nana showed no fear in the face of death, instead smiling and passing on his will to his successor.

En <> En is a reserved but friendly individual. He is well-aware of the limitations of his Quirk, guiding Izuku Midoriya on how to best use it in conjunction with his other Quirks. Given that he resisted having One For All stolen by All For One, En presumably has extremely strong willpower.

Daigoro <> Daigoro is described as "super funky", and has an energetic personality compared to other One For All users who are reserved in manner.

He was very proud of his given Quirk, referring to it as 'top grade'. He likes to tease his predecessor, Hikage Shinomori for being a hermit and was a senior colleague to his successor, En. Given that he resisted having One For All stolen by All For One, Daigoro presumably has an extremely strong willpowe

Hokage <> Hikage was a valiant and noble man who was determined to defeat All For One. However, he was well aware of his limits and understood he couldn't defeat All For One by himself, so he spent his life training himself and strengthening One For All to be passed onto the next user. Hikage was described by Daigoro Banjo as a "weirdo" who preferred to spend his time in solitude. It is implied that this was due to his Quirk constantly putting him on high alert.

Bruce <> When he was alive during the earliest era when Quirks emerged, Bruce became a battle-hardened veteran in an effort to survive the crumbling society. Like Kudo, he has a serious demeanor with apathetic traits due to his experience in history's most chaotic era. He is also a strong believer in viewing the world as nothing more than black and white, as he have believed every time there is victory, it means life, and every time there is defeat, it means death.

Because of how strong All For One was, and how he spread his influence over society, Bruce joined a resistance, led by Kudo, all with the goal of bringing All For One down. He is also a person with a strong sense of justice, shown when he was unwilling to lend his power to Izuku Midoriya, due to his optimistic attitude and "ridiculous" ideals to save his arch-enemy, Tomura Shigaraki. He is also logical, as he believes that Izuku will never understand the responsibility of how much One For All means to end their war with All For One.

However, he has a caring, empathetic side, shown when he was willing to help rescue the brother of his "mortal enemy", Yoichi Shigaraki. After being convinced by Yoichi to help Izuku harness the full power of One For All, Bruce reluctantly agreed to do so, and displays some mentoring skills, as he has taught Izuku how to harness his Quirk: Fa Jin. Bruce was also loyal to Kudo to the very end, showing a degree that Kudo trusts him as his second-in-command and inheritor of One For All, with both of them dying for the cause.

Kudos <> Alive during the harshest era of his time, Kudo was a battle-hardened veteran who was a soldier first and foremost. He had a serious yet apathetic demeanor due to his experience in history's most chaotic era during the first couple years when Meta Abilities were rampant. Because of this, he held a strong black and white view of the world, stating that every time he fought, victory meant life and defeat meant death.All his life, Kudo had only but one goal: to bring down All For One, having killed many people who got in his way, showing no mercy for anyone who would interfere with his mission. He holds a strong and stern sense of justice, as seen when he was unwilling to lend his power to Izuku Midoriya, due to his optimistic attitude and "ridiculous" ideals to save his archenemy, Tomura Shigaraki. Kudo also expressed cynicism towards Izuku, although perhaps rightly so given his past and everything he fought for, as he told Yoichi that Izuku will never understand the responsibility of how much One For All means to end their war against All For One.

Yoichi <> Aside from his strained relationship with Zen, Yoichi is a friendly person and has a good relationship with all of his successors. He holds Izuku Midoriya in high regard, impressed by his conviction to help people in distress, even his enemies, and often voices his support for the younger hero. He also brought Kudo and Bruce to Izuku's side, despite them both initially refusing to acknowledge him, reminding them both on how they once sought to kill him for his connection to All For One, only to save Yoichi instead while calling them both his heroes.
