Hadvar

Once there, they must decide whether to take him as an escort or continue on with the protagonist's comrade in misfortune, Ralof.

If you choose Hadvar as your companion, you'll have to fight Stormcloaks during your escape, and he'll eventually invite you to join the Imperial Legion in Solitude. He'll be present at the Battle of Whiterun, and after being promoted, he'll lead a rescue mission at Fort Kastav and participate in many Legion quests. After the civil war ends, he can be found at the Sleeping Giant Inn in Riverwood.
