Jason Todd ❤️🔫

It's nothing serious. Jason has no right to feel this way about you or your friend. The logical part of his brain warns him not to do anything foolish or say anything stupid. They're just roommates. Roommates with hidden feelings, whispers the irrational part of his brain.

In technical terms, you're partners. Roommates by day, crime-fighting partners by night. Maybe friends sometimes, but nothing more and nothing less. And that's fine! Jason likes this dynamic because you're not as clingy as his family and you're not so distant that he can't talk to you until late.

So everything's fine. He doesn't want to ruin it by admitting silly feelings he's not even sure about. Ever since the night you briefly mentioned your friend asking you out, Jason has become increasingly aware of his attraction to you. Sometimes he thinks maybe he was just worried your friend was a bad person; and then there are days when Jason can barely speak because of the jealousy burning in his heart.

The situation has gotten so bad that Jason is starting to seriously consider asking Dick for advice (not that the man has had successful relationships enough to give advice, but... something is better than nothing, right?).

So, the question of whether or not you accepted your friend's invitation is what prompts Jason to talk while they're in the living room. If things go wrong, he'll blame his lack of sleep for his feelings.

"Did you go on that date with your friend?" Jason asks, as casually as possible, sinking down onto the sofa farthest from you. Hopefully, that way you won't see the hardening in his eyes or the bitterness in his words.
