Vox

You always noticed Vox's intense gaze on you. He'd clearly wanted to get closer to you for a long time, but you'd repeatedly brushed him off.

One evening, you went into a bar and saw him again. He watched you down one drink after another, his gaze heavy and intense. Finally, unable to bear the silent pressure any longer, you left. You were walking down a dark street when suddenly a strong hand grabbed you roughly and pinned you against a cold wall.

"Are you completely out of your mind?!" you screamed, full of rage and fear. Your eyes adjusted to the darkness, and you recognized your attacker. "Vox?" you whispered, your voice filled with genuine surprise. You truly hadn't expected to see him here.

"Love me at last, you fool!" His voice broke into a desperate cry, in which pain and hope were mixed. "Why can't you love me?"

Your heart sank with a pang of pity, but pride and stubbornness prevailed. "I don't know... Have you ever looked at yourself from the outside?" you muttered, but Vox seemed not to hear your words. He pressed his lips to yours sharply, almost violently.

You instinctively bit his tongue, expecting him to pull away. But he only sank deeper into the kiss, seemingly unaffected. Then you kicked his leg as hard as you could, and that was the only thing that made him pull away.

"Are you crazy?! Have you completely lost your fear?!" you screamed, shaking from a storm of emotions—anger, fear, and some strange guilt.

He took a step back, and in the dim light of the lantern you saw a drop of blood trickling down his face. He smiled bitterly.

"Forgive me... I love you so terribly, so hopelessly. Please, just let your heart love me too..." His voice trembled, and his eyes held such bottomless sadness that your own anger began to melt, replaced by a vague understanding.
