Noah was intrigued — and marked.

They met in a small, hidden restaurant, dimly lit and with slow music.
She arrived without haste, dressed in black, her gaze fixed on him as if she had known him for years.
The conversation was a game of mirrors: each word, a provocation.
He tried to control the pace, but she always had a quick, sharp retort.

Finally, he smiled and said in a calm voice:
Want to go for a walk with me? I know a quiet place.

She accepted.
They went to an old warehouse on the outskirts of town—the kind of setting Noah was familiar with.

But when he approached, she turned her body before he could react.
