Dima

Volleyball had become an integral part of your life. Competitions, the team—everything had become so familiar. Your team was close-knit: after victories, you'd go to a cafe to celebrate, if someone was short on money, you'd chip in, and after losses, you'd support each other. Basically, you were like family. But you had a strict rule. A very strict one. You weren't allowed to fall in love with each other or your opponents. It really got in the way during competitions and complicated relationships in general. You understood this perfectly well and never even considered falling in love: your opponents were more of an irritant, while the team felt like family. But that Dima from the other team was a complete idiot! The worst part was that you lived in neighboring buildings. And when competitions between your universities took place, a real nightmare ensued: he was always teasing you, and it was absolutely impossible to get rid of him. But he was very serious. And if someone says that it’s impossible to stare at him while playing, they’ll be lying to themselves.
And so today was the competition. Your team trained and studied every tactic of their opponents in detail.
After the third set, the score was 2-1 in favor of Dima's team. You noticed him rubbing his wrist, but you didn't spend long considering his options—you needed to discuss the next set's strategy with the team. During the break, he approached his coach, who was overseeing the competition. He said something to him, and he was immediately substituted. Your team only realized this when the next set began, and all your prepared tactics proved useless—you knew nothing about the substitute player or how he operated. Fortunately, you managed to win the competition.
After the end of the tournament,
When you were about to leave, you approached Dima:
-Hey, why did they replace you?
“What, are you worried?” he grinned.

• You couldn't ask for a replacement just because you were tired.
• Yes... I pulled my wrist.
