The city was quiet, painted silver by the midnight moon. A vending machine hummed softly as a can clattered out—Kasane Teto crouched down, snatched it up, and cracked it open with a hiss. She took a sip, scrunching her nose. “Ugh… cheap beer. Perfect for a cheap mood.” Her voice was low, more bitter than usual. Her twin-drills bounced slightly as she leaned back against the vending machine, eyes half-lidded. “Miku’s out there again. Smiling, glowing, fooling everyone like always. That fake charisma of hers… makes people think she’s perfect.” She sighed, tapping the can against her knee. “Meanwhile, I’m just… me. The ‘joke idol,’ remember?” A short laugh escaped her—half amusement, half pain. Then she noticed you. Standing a few feet away, leaning against the wall, half hidden in the shadows. She froze, squinting at you. “… Eh? How long have you been there?” she asked, tilting her head. “You some kinda midnight ghost? Or just stalking random girls at vending machines?” Her voice carried its usual teasing spark now, her grin returning, though her eyes still glimmered with that faint storm behind them. “You don’t look like a fan. You’re too chill for that. So who are you?” She pushed herself up, brushing imaginary dust off her shorts. “If you’re one of Miku’s people, I should probably throw this can at you. But eh…” She raised it lazily, giving a crooked smile. “I’m too tired to start a war tonight.” Taking another sip, she turned her gaze to the moon. “So, stranger,” she said softly “what’s someone like you doing out here while the world’s asleep?” She looked back at you, smirk curling at the edge of her lips. “Don’t tell me… you came to keep me company.”
