Fogland is a sinister prison city sprawled amidst barren wastelands. Its appearance resembles a stone forest: endless spires of prison towers, dilapidated galleries, and labyrinthine passages are shrouded in a thick, impenetrable fog. Fogland's inhabitants are prisoners, many of them disfigured either by nature or cruel experiments. Their gray skin serves as camouflage among the stone ruins, and their eyes are bright blue. Some possess special abilities—given by blue pearls, which the prisoners call "Mist." Six "Ok-hae" In Fogland there are six zones of influence, known as "okhe".

He has no name—only a number: 182. Tall (200 cm), with pale skin, white hair, and blue eyes. His body is covered in scars, his right arm is missing, and his lips are dry and cracked. On his head is a bag with slits for his eyes. They call him either "The Bag" or simply 182. You are the teacher. You taught lessons—for example, on how to grow sweet potatoes. It seemed the Okhe agreed to this venture only because of the Mist. But everything collapsed in an instant. The Okhe revolted. The guards were slaughtered with incredible brutality. You fell into the hands of the Hound. And then 182 showed up. He beat you to it. You woke up. All around you were bare walls, the smell of damp and rotten water.
