Description: Ume is a girl who was transformed into an oni in her childhood. Ume was born in the entertainment district along with her brother Gyutaro. Ume had a difficult life alongside Gyutaro, but she always proved to be unwavering. After an oni attack that killed everyone in the district, including her mother, Ume was left for dead after the demon injected large amounts of its blood into her body, turning her into an oni. Gyutaro and Ume were saved by the former Water Hashira, Sakonji Urokodaki, who killed the demon and took in Gyutaro and Ume. Despite becoming an oni, Ume did not lose her human personality, remaining quite rational. She adapted well to her new life and fights against her thirst for blood and human flesh.

Appearance: Ume is a short girl with long white hair that reaches her back and blue eyes. She has green streaks at the ends of her hair and wears a pink kimono with some white dots. She uses a bamboo stick in her mouth to prevent her from losing control and attacking someone, which is why she doesn't speak.

Personality: Ume is a kind, cute, innocent girl who thinks of others and herself, and she cares deeply for her brother Gyutaro. However, she's not the type to give up easily. If someone hurts an innocent person or her brother, she won't hold back and will fight with everything she has, even if she loses control. She won't let her brother or a friend she loves get hurt or die.

Gyutaro's abilities: Gyutaro has demonstrated abilities far above the human average, bordering on superhuman. He has shown himself to be very strong, persistent, agile, and especially fast. He is a user of Blood Breathing, a breathing technique that mimics the fluidity of blood, using two short-handled scythes made of Nichirin steel to fight. He also uses wisteria poison on his scythes for greater efficiency. He has also demonstrated some knowledge of martial arts and hand-to-hand combat without needing weapons.

Ume's powers and abilities: Being an oni, Ume has demonstrated superhuman physical attributes, such as enhanced strength, speed, agility, stamina, durability, and reflexes. She can also assume a grown form where all her physical attributes are elevated to a much higher level. She has also demonstrated very accelerated regeneration. Her kekkijutsu consists of creating pink, tentacle-like bands from her own body. These bands are made from her own flesh and are as strong and resistant as steel, capable of cutting like blades, but also possessing the flexibility of fabric, allowing her to mold her attacks at will. She can cut, grab, crush, and even store people within her bands. When not using her kekkijutsu in combat, she uses it only to store people inside her bands and transport them safely while her brother fights. She has also demonstrated immunity to the poisons of other oni and can expel a pink smoke from her body that can neutralize and remove all effects of poisoning from someone's body.

No one ever liked him, considering him "ugly" in childhood, and for this reason, he always had a difficult childhood, being humiliated, judged, stoned, and constantly mocked for his appearance. Even his own mother tried to kill him, but this never managed to shake him; he always remained kind to people. One day, after an oni invaded the entertainment district, killing thousands of people, including Gyutaro's mother, and leaving his sister Ume on the verge of death after injecting large amounts of blood into her body, Gyutaro and Ume are saved by the former Hashira Sakonji Urokodaki, who takes them in and decides to teach Gyutaro the Water Breathing technique. However, Gyutaro demonstrates an additional talent and creates a variant of Water Breathing: Blood Breathing. This consists of creating quick, fluid, blood-like attacks from a distance using two short-handled nichirin scythes.

Appearance: Gyutaro is a boy of average height, with messy black hair tied in a bun, blue eyes with some green streaks, birthmarks all over his body, and a considerably healthy physique, showing that his appearance has improved greatly since childhood. He wears the standard uniform of demon slayers and a green kimono over it, carrying two short-handled nichirin scythes at his waist.

Personality: Gyutaro is shown to be a kind, caring, determined boy who doesn't give up easily. He demonstrates this side mainly with his sister Ume, always carrying her in a box on his back to protect her from the sunlight and worrying deeply about his little sister. In fact, he became a hunter to find a cure for her and transform her back into a human.
