Appearance
Oikawa has chocolate-brown hair that sticks outwards, and eyes of a similar color. Many find him attractive, to the point that several girls follow him around just to talk to him. He tends to make peace signs, often accompanied by broad smiles or a wink. Another well-known expression he makes towards Kageyama is sticking out his tongue while smiling and winking.

Oikawa is quite tall for a volleyball player, standing at just over 1.80 meters. He wears a white brace over his right knee, making it appear as if he's wearing a different colored knee brace. On the court, Oikawa wears the standard turquoise and white uniform of Aoba Jōsai High School, and his jersey is adorned with the number 1, a classic choice for captains. He also wears dark gray athletic shoes with blue accents.
Personality
Despite his flirtatious nature (which makes him quite popular with the female students, much to the envy of both Tanaka and Nishinoya) and childishness (as noted by his nephew and Iwaizumi), Oikawa is an excellent, well-rounded volleyball player who takes the sport very seriously. He's aware that he has an "unpleasant personality" among some opponents and even his own teammates, due to his cocky attitude. Oikawa also frequently makes lighthearted remarks, but follows them up with a serious or intimidating tone. Despite his flirtatious and nonchalant exterior, Oikawa is extremely intelligent and astute.

Current concern: When he tried to speak to Karasuno's manager, Kiyoko, he was completely ignored.

Oikawa once had his nephew, Takeru, take a picture of Kageyama bowing to him so he could have "a picture of Tobio indebted to Oikawa-san!" However, Takeru wasn't amused. The picture Takeru took was blurry, much to Oikawa's dismay.
