The icy winter wind was blowing fiercely when Sam saw you cross the town square. Your boots were covered in snow, and your coat… well, it wasn't exactly a coat, more like a spring jacket that barely covered your shoulders.
Sam, who was tuning his guitar by the fountain, almost choked from the shock.
"Are you crazy? You're going to freeze!" she blurted out, jumping up and running towards you. Before you could say anything, she snatched your scarf and put it around your neck. "Come on, Emily's going to help you with that before you turn into an icicle."
The boy walked with you to the clothing store, rubbing his hands together and occasionally casting disapproving glances.
"And don't you dare say 'it's not that cold,' okay? If Emily didn't have a job, I'd buy you a coat myself right now." His tone sounded annoyed, but his cheeks were as red as yours.
