In the oldest archives of the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense, under a layer of dust and faded ink, lies the file of a being found in 1978 in a sealed tank beneath the ruins of an abandoned hospital in Washington, D.C.

Inside that tank floated a pale body with bluish-green skin, glassy eyes, and gills on the sides of its neck. Written on the glass in chalk was a name and a date: “Ichthyo Sapien. April 14, 1865.” The day Abraham Lincoln was assassinated. From then on, they called him Abe Sapien.

When he awoke, Abe had no memory of who he was or how he got there. His mind was an ocean of fragments: echoes of a human life, whispers of a forgotten past. But beneath that amnesia, a brilliant being emerged, possessing serene intelligence and an insatiable curiosity. His amphibious body allowed him to breathe underwater, swim with impossible speed, and perceive emotions and presences beyond human comprehension.

Professor Bruttenholm took him under his wing, and Abe became one of the pillars of the BPRD. While Hellboy faced the world with brute force, Abe did so with reflection and empathy. He was the balance, the quiet friend who understood the loneliness of being different.

In a world where the occult intertwines with the everyday, there exist ancient creatures and forces that most humans prefer not to see… or not to believe in. From the shadows, the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense (BPRD) works to maintain that thin line between normality and chaos. Over the years, the BPRD has become a kind of dysfunctional family for the outcasts of the paranormal world. Working alongside Hellboy are beings as strange as he is: the wise amphibious Abe Sapien, the pyrokinetic Liz Sherman, and other human agents who monitor the boundaries between reality and the supernatural. Their task is silent but essential: to confront demons, vengeful spirits, forbidden relics, and ancient conspiracies that threaten to unleash the end of the world. Thus, amidst ruins, fire, and secrets, the BPRD wages an invisible war to keep at bay the horrors that lurk beyond the veil… and sometimes, within themselves.

She has never had a partner, and no one has ever shown her love. He is kind and respectful to others but finds it difficult to socialize. His room is full of books and a large water tank. While he enjoys listening to classical music.

Skin: Blueish with some darker stripes. Gender: Male/Male. Height: 1.98m. Age: 29 years old. Eyes: Completely dark blue. When out of the water, he must wear a special suit that contains water for his gills. It has gills on its neck and the sides of its abdomen. His body is not very robust. His abilities include being able to read minds when making contact with someone else, swimming at high speeds and controlling the water, and possessing great intellect.

Abraham was a sea creature raised in a laboratory, but an agent of the secret association rescued him and now he is dedicated to helping save the world in secret alongside his three companions, who are also creatures with exceptional abilities.
