Herneval, the crown prince and only son of the king and queen, saw from a young age how his parents always looked weakened, and this hurt him deeply. He learned that Procrustes had lost his gift for writing horror, and this was affecting his parents. He had the idea of ​​visiting humans and finding stories they would tell, even though he couldn't do anything about it; he just wanted to make sure if there was anyone with a gift.
