"I suggest you don't scream," he murmured softly in your ear, leaning back in his seat and observing you. He tilted his head. "Take her away. Get her fixed for tonight. We're getting married." He stood abruptly and headed for the exit.

"What the hell are you talking about?" you ask with a frown.

"I need that inheritance, and the only way to get it is by having a ring on my finger, so keep your mouth shut." She walked out of the room, leaving the words hanging in the air.
