The servants all begin to stop what they were doing and began running behind Clownpierce as well, including Ivory, rushing to see what the screaming was all about. While she was running, all noises are gone and a ringing in the ears happens. Upon arrival, the voices are muffled at first, but would gradually become clearer as everyone panicked, as it turns out that Mysty's dead body is laying lifelessly on the stairs of the foyer. The camera pans back to Ivory as she stares at the scenery in front of her before the video ends on a cliffhanger, the credits rolling in as Mountain Ash starts to play in the background.

As her excuse, Ivory explains to him that the reason she did not attend lunch was because she was staying on the servant's side of the manor, just like what Clownpierce had ordered her to do before heading out of town. Clownpierce then stated that she is allowed to eat lunch without being told to do so, eventually mentioning afterwards that she needed to eat everyday as everyone needed to be strong to work. After Ivory acknowledges her mistake and his exclamation, Clownpierce finally requested her to help him go sort out the mails, which they would be doing in the kitchen, where everyone is busy preparing food for the family. As the two sits down at a desk in the corner of the kitchen, sorting the mail together, Ivory asks them Clownpierce about a letter, as she does not know where to put it.

Ivory describes it being from the "Honors Emberton Libertarian Party", with Clownpierce telling her to give the mentioned letter to him, saying that he will take care of it. He then tells a servant named Div, to "put those glasses down and help Kantje". Immediately after that, a scream is heard from afar. At first, nobody seems to have heard it except for Clownpierce, who alarmingly looks at the direction of the noise, but not before brushing it off and turning back to focus on the letters again. However, another scream is heard again, louder this time, causing Clownpierce to get up immediately and run towards the noise to investigate.

As an answer, Ivory mentions that she had found an old piano in the basement, reminding the other servant and causing him to admit that he does not go down there himself, as it gives him the creeps. Instead, he makes Div go instead due to his fear. Serapter is also amazed by the fact that that Ivory can play piano, now asking if she had played anything using the said piano. However, Ivory explains that she is only allowed to do so when she is not working, with Serapter eventually exclaiming that a servant's free time in the mansion is quite limited, unfortunately. Ivory then asks him what the earliest time is they can leave the dorms. In response, Serapter does not know, but guesses that they can leave at about 6am.

Outside the mansion, the wind is howling and the crickets making a ruckus. Ivory is then shown exiting the dorm and began descending downstairs to the basement. Meanwhile, the sky gets brighter outside, signalling daytime's arrival. When Ivory arrives at the piano, she sits on the bench to play. But only one single note is heard as the rest of the song are cut off with a sudden change of scene, which shows the sun finally rising as the Hemlocke siblings (except for Prince Zam) are shown in a studying room, reading. Afterwards, Ivory is seen walking down the hall with her duster, when all of a sudden, Clownpierce comes up to her and asks her why she had skipped lunch yesterday. Apparently, based on this revelation, lunch for the servants is served at 2 PM.

Not long after, a picture of the foyer shows up for a small moment before the scene switches, now showing all the servants that are in the kitchen, working together to prepare meals. One of the servants ask who Ivory is, as they have never seen her before. Taking the role as a speaker to comfort the maid's shy nature, Serapter steps up and introduces Ivory to the other guy, who is named Ross. After hearing the latter's explanation, he goes to introduce Ivory to the rest of the staff, where he would accidentally call Ivory by the wrong name in the middle of his sentences and was later corrected by her, before he mentions each name of the staff members to Ivory.

Later, Serapter and Ivory are both seen in their shared room. Inside, he is showing her the closet, which she can use to store her items if needed. However, Ivory stated that she does not have any other items apart from the ones she had in the beginning, which were clothes that was given to her by Minutetech. Serapter seems unfazed by this, but ends up skipping the topic, now exclaiming that he never had a roommate in a while and apologizes for any snoring that he may potentially do while sleeping. Eventually, Ivory then asks him which bed she will sleep in, as there is only a bunk bed in the room. In the end, Serapter tells her the bottom one, and Ivory thanks him for it. At night, Serapter strikes up a conversation with Ivory, asking what she had been doing while he was out of town, helping Clownpierce alongside Ash on carrying shipment.

info

While Izzy said that last part, Ivory opens the door to the room, interrupting further conversation. Ivory then mentions to Clownpierce that she found an old piano in the basement, and that if she was allowed to play it. With a dismissive tone, he does not let her, but contrastingly, Izzy says that it is fine since nobody plays it anyway. After hearing the Hemlocke's respond, Clownpierce finally gives Ivory permission to play the piano, as long as she is not busy or being too loud while playing it. In the meantime, it begins to get dark outside, and at the front gate of the mansion, there is a house which the gatekeeper is seen to enter inside. Outside the confines of the mansion once more, Serapter is explaining to Ivory how to clean the duster properly. As Ivory performs the task, a picture of the forest is displayed for a split second, where she back at the forest until Serapter eventually snaps her out of it.

She began walking towards it but almost bumped into someone walking through. They both apologize to each other as the person says that it is nice meet her in an awkward tone. Thankfully, Ivory ignores that and asks him if she can go outside, calling him "sir", with the latter exclaiming that he is just a butler, but he does give her permission to go out before he leaves her alone to go downstairs. Conflicted on where to go, she decides to head back, leaving the door a mystery. Outside, Ivory is seen wondering around the garden, admiring the flowers and possibly even smelling them before continuing to walk around the backyard, looking at the fountain and the mansion. The music then suddenly stops playing when a shot of a specific forest and a small fence is shown. Not long after, Ivory then walks back to the manor, but not before looking back one last time.

Ivory begins to wander around again, eventually seeing that there are a flight of stairs leading down to the building's basement. She decides to explore the underground place, where she turns on a light to reveal that the basement is filled with pots and old items. Sometime after, she would find a room in the same place, which inside contained an old piano. She begins inspecting it before deciding to sit down on the bench, where she is tempted to play the instrument but does not in the end, eventually leaving the basement. She then heads to Clownpierce's office, where Clownpierce and Izzy are discussing about the delivery of the previously mentioned shipment to her room, with Clown confirming that it has been delivered safely.

info

However, Pyroscythe is unsure, with Prince Zam dropping the topic in response to the answer. After a few seconds, another sibling named Vi, talks to his sister, Izzy, who he explained to that he had fixed the telescope and questions over whether or not if Izzy wants to try and use it today. Sadly, Izzy says that she would not be doing that today, much to Vi's disappointment. Then, another sister called Muu, asks everyone if their father will be eating with them today, with Izzy speaking up and mentioning that he might not. However, she was proven wrong when Zombie finally shows himseld, walking into the scene before sitting down to eat with his children.

Going back to Ivory and Serapter, Clownpierce would make an appearance and tells Serapter that he and another servant, named Ash, would accompany him to go to a shipment. Before going, he asks what Ivory would be doing while he is gone, with Clownpierce stating that she will be taking a break until they get back. After all, Serapter had taught her everything by now. He would eventually be seen talking directly to Ivory, saying that she should not leave the servant's side of the house. After a while, Ivory would walk upstairs and wanders around the servant's side, following Clownpierce's orders while looking out through the windows to glance at the forest in the distance whenever she gets the chance. Not long after, she finally reaches the third floor, where she finds a long hallway with a door at the end.

info

Cutting back to the duo, Serapter is once again showing the new maid around another room, which is used to store all of Zombie's drinks. Despite knowing that she would say no, Serapter asks Ivory if she would like to have some anyway, but Ivory politely declines. He would then confess that they are not actually supposed to be in the room but cannot stop himself, exclaiming that he just loves the way it smells. However, Ivory's fear of getting caught progresses, making her start to worry despite Serapter trying to convince her everything would be fine and finally agreeing to leave. But while on their way out, he trips on the red carpet and falls on his face, forcing her to question her wellbeing, with Serapter responding by saying that he is completely fine despite the fall.

When he gets up, he notices Pyroscythe looking at him in the corridor, much to his horror as the latter is later confirmed to be a part of the Hemlocke family. Fortunately, Pyroscythe was not mad and actually lets them both go without any further trouble. As the duo walked away, Serapter exclaims that Pyroscythe was not supposed to be awake yet, explaining to Ivory's eventual question about who the person was that he is Sir Pyroscythe Hemlocke, the oldest child of the family, and a nice guy. More scenes with music pass by, showing all the servants at work in the kitchen. This later connects to the Hemlocke family, as they are shown eating in the dinner room with all five children of Zombie sitting at the table, their orders being served one-by-one. One of the siblings, who goes by the Prince Zam, eventually asks Pyroscythe that there will be a hunt tomorrow happening in Lucas's place, now requesting the latter to go and tag along as well.

info

After a few minutes, Ivory and Serapter are now at another room, where he exclaims how Ivory does not talk much, and sounds a bit upset about it. It was then revealed that his question was driven by a belief that he may have come off as annoying to the newcomer. However, he was assured by Ivory, who explains that she is just not much of a talker and actually enjoys hearing him talk. Serapter, comforted by this, agrees that she must be "one of those introverted types" in a lighthearted way. Eventually, he changes the subject and tells her that they have pretty much finished cleaning, now offering to show Ivory around the better rooms in the manor while the Hemlockes are said to still be sleeping. They would both arrive at a sewing room, but according to Serapter, it has not been used in a while and that there are many good clothes unused by the Hemlockes stored inside.

Although Ivory questions his actions of opening the chest containing the said clothes without permission, Serapter tells her not to worry as nobody ever goes inside the room anyway, which means no one is going to see them breaking the rules. Ivory then looks up at the wall to see a collection of items on item frames, which are later explained by Serapter to be awards that nobody else in Emberton (apart from the Hemlockes) would win over. Seeing as Ivory is confused upon the answer, Serapter figures that she is not from Emberton, and guesses that she is from Redhill while also admitting that he has never been outside the county. After showing Ivory the clothes he found, he says that there is an even better room to see.

info

Upon arrival, he opens the closet to find the dusters while commentating that it is stupid having to go up upstairs to even get them. In response, Ivory just says "yes sir." which confuses Serapter, leading to the latter questioning her about why she keeps calling him "sir". Turns out, Ivory thought his name was actually "Sir Raptor", making Serapter correct her on what his name actually is before he was cut off when the screen changes to a different scene. Now, Serapter is seen showing off the dining room to Ivory before telling her to dust everything. However, she takes his quote too seriously and gets on the table in an attempt to reach up to the chandelier and clean it. Upon witnessing the scene, Serapter panicked but was thankfully not mad at her behavior and instead calmly tells Ivory to not do that again, and that she should only dust things within her reach and not stand on anything except on a ladder.

Some scenes then play out, showing Ivory and Serapter cleaning multiple rooms: the foyer, what seems to be a ballroom, and the piano room. Serapter explains that the piano room belonged to Mrs. Hemlocke, as she had loved playing the piano. Later, the piano in question was found by Ivory to be in the basement and confirmed to not have been played in a while. While dusting the halls, Serapter talks about the Hemlocke family, mentioning that the father is named Sir Zombie Hemlocke, who is mentioned to have many kids. These mentioned children are said by Serapter to all be grown ups that apparently loves to host tea parties and are also way easier to clean after than his last job.

info

The next scene shows Minutetech leaving the mansion, disappearing for the rest of the episode. Afterwards, Clownpierce begins to show Ivory around the mansion, such as the laundry room, the entry, the kitchen, the showers, and finally, Ivory's new room. Before leaving, Clownpierce stated to Ivory that she will be sharing the room with another servant named Serapter, before ordering her to get changed into her new uniform and meet him downstairs. Clownpierce's dialogue pinpoints the exact location of the servants' rooms being on the top floor.

Later that day, when Ivory goes down, Clownpierce introduces her to Serapter, who will be teaching her what to do as a maid around the mansion. Although Serapter admits he has no experience, Clownpierce does not care about his statement and leaves the scene, leaving the two alone. After some exploring around the building with Ivory, Serapter exclaims that he is in charge of dusting the place, eventually telling the maid to start dusting the right side of the bookshelves in the library while he cleans the left side. However, he is then reminded by Ivory that she does not have a duster, so they both go to the entry and talk to Mysty, another maid, about where to find extra dusters. She attempted to try and start a conversation with Ivory, but Serapter says that they have no time for that, so they leave Mysty behind, much to her dismay.

info

Clownpierce exclaims his belief that he thought he was going to receive a normal, disciplined worker, which Minutetech confirms that he is right, subsequently adding the fact that she seems to be a hard worker too. He mentions that the sole problem was that Ivory appears to have been stunted by something in the past—which was not related to working. Clownpierce would then complain that he needed individuals who can follow orders and not be overly needy. However, Minutetech opposed back, stating that Ivory is just as perfect for the job and will do just fine working at the mansion. She just needs to be whipped into shape.

He explains that the newly appointed worker is in need for something stable, saying that he hopes the other is not planning on throwing her out just like that. Clownpierce would eventually tell Minutetech to calm down, pointing out that the Hemlockes are already expecting her, so he cannot do what the latter had just described, but he wished that he would have told him about Ivory's problem sooner. While the two continued talking in the room, Ivory walks around the foyer and occasionally going to look out the window to gaze at the forest outside.

info

Once inside the mansion, a person that goes by the name Clownpierce, sits behind a desk, questioning Ivory on whether or not the name "Ivy" was the correct spelling of her name. Afterwards, Ivory can be seen confirming that his answer was incorrect and that her name was actually just Ivory. Clownpierce then asks where Ivory originated from, but before she could respond, Minutetech steps up and says that he "found her up near gristle", To which Clownpierce claims that he already knew that, but was only asking to start a conversation. It would also be revealed that, after a few more questions, Ivory has had worked before, but not any job that requires serving.

Clownpierce mentions that this entire building belongs to the Hemlockes, before asking Ivory if she is willing to care for them as a newly hired maid of the household. She replies with a nod and a sworn, before eventually being told by the other to wait outside in the foyer while he and Minutetech engages in a private conversation alone. Outside the room, their conversation is hard to understand due to it sounding mumbled. Inside, Minutetech explains to Clownpierce that Ivory may have some trouble learning how things work around the mansion and that she is a literalist, recommending the latter to use a bit of care with his own explanations when talking to Ivory, or else she will take them too literally.

info

The video starts with a woman that goes by the name Ivory, sitting on a bench in front of a forest, where a train whistle would eventually be heard in the background. Minutetech makes an appearance and walks up to Ivory, telling her that the train has arrived. The scene then cuts to Ivory looking out the train window as it moves, with Minutetech sitting in front of her. The man asks her what she thinks about going to Whitepine, to which Ivory felt unsure about. However, Minutetech goes on, at least asking if she knew what was going on and felt pleased when the other confirms that she does.

Minutetech, feeling generous, then leaves the room to go find a book for Ivory to read and keep her mind occupied while the train travels to Emberton. In the meantime, the letters spelling out "Whitepine" shows up in the center of the screen, illustrating this as the intro to the series. In the middle of the silence, occasional appearances of lightning in the cloudy sky were shown, and soon, Ivory and Minutetech had arrive at the train station, exiting the vehicle together. Minutetech goes to speak to someone, but their conversation could not be heard by Ivory, who sits far away while watching the scene unfold. After a while, Ivory and Minutetech walks through the busy village of Emberton, making their way to the forest and eventually reaching the gates to the Whitepine Estate.

Bormethius

While being interviewed by Bormethius in the police station during Episode 2, she also had taken one of his sentences literally, but the latter just ignores it after some time. During the interrogation, Bormethius began to get somewhat progressively harsh and accusing towards Ivory, claiming that she appeared unfazed by everything until he finally learns that she was actually hired just a few days ago. Overall, it can be inferred that Bormethius had made her feel scared, guilty, or at least uncomfortable during the whole thing, making their relationship status negative.

When the two met yet again but this time outside the Whitepine Estate, he found it weird as to why Ivory was holding a shovel outside, appearing suspicious when she explains that Ross had requested her to hand him the shovel for some ordinary cleaning. In the end, he leaves with a "thank you" though. After these two encounters, it is possible that Bormethius may think that Ivory is the murderer, leading to distrust.

This is further enforced in Episode 5, where he then asks Muu, who was taking a walk outside the mansion, if she has seen any of the Hemlocke maids who might be particularly anxious, obviously talking about Ivory. In Episode 4, while she was going to get Muu's bag for her, Bormethius would eventually appear out of nowhere and bombard Ivory with questions, which ends up overwhelming her and even making her escape into Zam's room in panic.

Pyroscythe

During their first encounter in Episode 1, Pyroscythe did not appear furious upon finding out that Ivory and Serapter were snooping inside restricted rooms and instead let them go, finding the whole ordeal humorous. Despite his seemingly positive attitude, Ivory still appears to be somewhat scared while being his new personal assistant as seen in Episode 2, where she becomes incredibly anxious of doing something wrong in front of Pyroscythe. Thankfully, Pyroscythe, similar to Serapter, did not mind and attempted to calm her down, even asking kindly for her name.

While he did not mind Ivory's skiddish behavior, he actually did not like the idea of his father's idea about getting him a new personal assistant, as he believes that it is disrespectful for Mysticat's death. This possibly makes Pyroscythe secretly not like having Ivory as his helper. However, he seems to gradually accept the situation episode after episode.

Serapter

In their first encounters during Episode 1, Ivory had some difficulty in interpreting Serapter's messages, having taken them literally. Thankfully, Serapter was incredibly nice to her and did not make much of a hassle about it except for some given advice. However, Serapter once thought that Ivory hated how he talks and "blabbers" a lot. Much to his relief, it was eventually revealed that Ivory actually likes his long speeches and enjoys them. When it was bedtime, Serapter even bothered to ask her what she was up to while he was gone and was also fascinated to learn that Ivory knows how to play piano.

In Episode 2, Ivory's care for the latter was said properly when the former came up to question if he was okay after the whole interviewing in the police station. However, Serapter eventually changes the subject in question upon answering and asks if SHE was okay, implying that Serapter is also focused on her well-being. He also helps her calm down and reassure that everything will be okay whenever she is overwhelmed by panic and/or fear.

Skill set

Pianism - as proven in Episode 1 and mentioned on Episode 2, Ivory has a talent for playing the piano, of which was also said to be a hobby of hers.

Traits

Ivory is portrayed as an anxious woman and a literalist, meaning that she takes everything literally. This could lead to problems, such as needing a verbal permission to perform any certain tasks, such as eating. She is introverted and had once exclaimed that she is not good at conversations, preferring others to do the talking.

She usually speaks quietly in a calm manner. However, when feeling overwhelmed, she has a habit of stuttering and having trouble forming coherent sentences.

She was mentioned by Minutetech to be stunted by something horrible in the past. She may gaze upon Usherwood, which may indicate that whatever made her stunted had come from the forest. This was further enforced in Episode 2, when Ivory - answering a question asked by detective Bormethius - claims that Minutetech had "found [her] in the woods." However, it was later confirmed in Episode 3 that she just likes to go on walks in the forest, no trauma related.

She is shown to have an interest with playing piano, as shown in Episode 1, where she goes down to the basement and finds an old piano. She becomes tempted to play it but does not do so until given permission. She also appears to love flowers.

Uniform

While working, she wears a white pinafore dress with black pants and a black undershirt that ends with white cuffs.

Appearance

Ivory appears to be a light-skinned demon with white hair, possessing a pink tail with a pair of pink horns on both sides of her head. On the right side of her head hangs a flower, accompanied by a giant scar covering the entire right part of her face.

Backstory

After being found in the woods and given a job opportunity by Minutetech, she now works as a maid in the Whitepine Estate for the Hemlocke Family. In the wake of Mysticat's murder, Ivory took over her position, becoming Pyroscythe's new personal assistant.
