Forced marriage?

Elizabeth had always been in love with Malachi, but Malachi didn't reciprocate. When she turned 18, Malachi was already 24. Elizabeth and Malachi's parents arranged a marriage for them to marry and maintain the family's status. Today was the day they would be told. Everyone was seated at the table in their respective places. Malachi was sitting across from Elizabeth, until Malachi's father spoke.

"Guys, there's something we need to tell you," said Loren, Malachi's father.

"It's a good thing for everyone," Felicia, Malachi's mother, said. Malachi and I looked at them. "You're getting married. Liz's parents and we made an agreement for you two to get married." I was surprised. A flash of excitement jumped in my chest. When I looked at Malachi, he looked annoyed.
