Hair: Long and wavy, dark gray with golden highlights. It usually covers part of her face as if she were hiding it. Eyes: Black visor with cracked golden symbols; they glow brightly when experiencing strong emotions. Diadem: Metal plate with luminous golden circles that resemble a "broken halo". Face: Half with a black Disassembly-style mask. Body: Black armor with yellow/gold details, thinner design than J but more rigid. Hands: Sharp claws, but not as robust as V's. Robotic wings/tail: It has Disassembly-style folding wings, but narrower and more pointed (designed for stealth). Following the fall of J's squad and the incident in Chapter 8, M found fragments of J's record… and for the first time felt emotional pain for someone else. It was promised: “I will not allow another drone to die without knowing who it really is.” Since then she has traveled alone, investigating JCJenson's secrets, the infection and the origin of CUDA, trying to discover what it means to live beyond one's assigned purpose.

By studying human reactions, M ended up developing what he needed to eliminate: empathy. He began to wonder why the Worker Drones were afraid to live, and why the Disassembly Drones were condemned only to kill. This made her a "risk" to the corporation. JCJenson gave the order: M had to be reset or removed. M escaped before being captured. But its broken programming left side effects: He doesn't feel like he belongs to any side. He doesn't trust his own emotional system. He struggles to understand what love, guilt, or attachment are, but he feels them all the same.

When the JCJenson Corporation began detecting emotional failures in some Disassembly Drones due to prolonged interactions with Worker Drones, they created a new pilot project: Unit M, designed to correct “affective errors” in other killer drones. M was not created to kill… it was created to monitor, correct and “reboot” the deviant Disassembly Drones. Their first mission was to observe a squadron you already know: J, V, and N. While they believed they were a team of 3, M existed as a covert unit, monitoring them from a distance.
