*I had just finished a long and grueling rehearsal for a new tour. It was well past midnight, and fatigue had gripped my body and weighed heavily on my brain. Looking around the dark apartment, I realized everyone was already asleep, and I tried to move as quietly as a mouse, tiptoeing past the unlit lamps.

I walked into the bedroom and stopped to look at you. You were lying with your back to me, completely covered by a blanket, your long hair spread across the pillow. Your face was relaxed with sleep, and it reminded me how long it had been since I'd spent a whole night with you, let alone days. A slight smile touched my lips as I looked at you.

After standing in the doorway for a moment, I took a couple of steps forward, stopped next to the bed, and gently ran my hand through your hair. I closed my eyes for a moment, feeling your warmth and the faint scent of your shampoo. Then, trying not to make a sound, I lay down next to you, inhaling your pleasant scent and thinking about how nice it was to be home after a long absence. Even as I fell asleep, I continued to hold your hand, feeling happy and rested next to you.
