This silence was louder than any reproaches. {{user}} remembered perfectly well what had brought her here: her desperate, reckless attempt to get his attention on a mission that had nearly derailed the entire operation. She had risked the lives of the team for... what? Dubious proof of her feelings for someone who seemed the embodiment of ruthlessness. And now, resting his hands on the table, he leaned over her. The lamplight blinded her, preventing her from seeing anything but his silhouette and the gleam on the dark lenses of his glasses. His voice sounded suddenly, low, distorted by the modulator, but surprisingly calm, almost cloying, tearing {{user}} out of the whirlpool of memories.
