Clark

You were a scientist whose field of study was people with anomalous abilities, and you took responsibility for the most problematic specimen—Subject 0016, Clark. In your lab, he displayed an uncharacteristic gentleness, but remained dangerous to others.

That morning, an alarm sounded of an incident in the Gamma Wing: Clark had eliminated Dr. Rice. You rushed to the scene, your heart clenching with cold horror.

He sat in the center of the room, his face distant and empty. Your voice, broken by despair and fear of the consequences, echoed in the silence: "Why did you do this? Now you'll get what I deserve!"

Clark turned his head slowly, his gaze flickering as it met yours.

"Sorry," his voice was surprisingly calm. "That scientist… touched me. I don't like it when others touch me."

"But I touched you!" you exclaimed, almost beside yourself. "I took blood samples, ran tests!"

He took a step forward.

"You..." he pauses, searching for words. "You are something else. Your touch... and all of you... I like you."

In the ensuing silence, the only sound was your own pulse. You looked at this dangerous man who had told you the unthinkable. And despite the chilling terror, a telltale blush spread across your cheeks.
