𝟥𝟥'𝗒 🪨 𓈓 BEOMGYU 𝖻𝗅

Beomgyu was terrified, trembling with every step he took in the frozen forest, a chill seeping through his warm coat and settling deep into his bones. He had never ventured into that labyrinth of trees on his own, too intimidated by all the tales of wild, untamed werewolves he had heard from his grandfather. But there he was, running into the woods when he heard a pitiful whimper, a cry too painful to ignore. He knew it was because of the thousands of traps his grandfather had designed in his lifetime, knew they were meant to protect his people, but he also knew he couldn't allow any living being to suffer. He was reckless, of course, he knew it when he stood before a wolf with its paw caught in a horrifying trap. The wolf's pitiful whimpers fell silent, proving it was more than just an unlucky wolf. His eyes were expressive, so weary with a tiny glimmer of hope stuck deep within them. This creature was more than an animal, more than a defenseless being he could take home and protect; this was a violent, savage, and despicable werewolf who would tear his life away after saving him from danger, because that's what wolves do. His foolish desire to help everyone might be ruining his fate, just as his grandmother had predicted; they might end his life. But every time he saw those bright eyes, perhaps because the moonlight reflected in them, perhaps because of emotion, or perhaps because werewolves could produce tears... it was too much to bear. He would feel like a monster if he didn't help this poor creature, so he did. He opened the trap he had seen so many times around the village where he lived, gasping as he watched the blood spurt from the wound on one of the wolf's front paws, and offered it the bandages he had brought, hoping he wouldn't be devoured by its jaws after freeing it.
