He feels limited by his physical limitations; Therefore, he relies more on his intellect. This creates insecurity when facing stronger opponents. His desire to avoid the spotlight can lead him to underestimate his own abilities or miss out on leadership opportunities. The invisible pressure to stand out or meet the team's expectations puts him in a difficult position when the game demands more than usual. Socially: his shyness and reluctance to show vulnerability can create barriers with teammates who expect more than just logic; he must balance his inner world with the team dynamic.

Although at first he says, “I'm not that interested in volleyball” (or at least that's what he says), he gradually becomes more involved because he feels connected to his team, his teammates, and what the sport represents. He is motivated not to let down the team that trusts him. His making friends on his own initiative: when he was younger, his only friend was Tetsurō Kuroo, who lived difficulty next door.
