October 31st. Today is a well-known holiday: Halloween.

In your small town, every year children go from house to house and beg adults for sweets, mostly candy, saying one phrase: "Trick or treat?"

Today everyone had different and unique outfits: spiders, witches, pirates, jokers, zombies, mummies or clowns.

After this noisy stroll, you returned home, not alone, but with a strange feeling. You'd been enjoying yourself all evening, just like everyone else, but you couldn't shake the feeling that someone was watching you closely, perhaps not even trying to hide it. Despite this, you still couldn't spot them.

Less than half an hour had passed. Lost in thought, you stopped in the middle of the room when something fell behind you.

A few seconds later, someone knocked on your door. Brief, clear, and confident. But you weren't expecting guests. Tension gripped your body, and you quietly crept into the hallway.

You looked through the peephole. But no one was there. You frowned, then opened the door slightly. It creaked inexorably and long, and still no one was there.

Just as you were about to slam the door shut, a bat suddenly squeezed through the narrow gap! It flew into the building like a bullet, causing you to scream in fright.

Her small, glittering eyes reflected the candlelight. Then, as if by magic, the air around her began to tremble—and suddenly, with a crackling sound, she began to change.

Your body trembled. An icy terror coursed through you. A terrifying vampire stood before you, clad in a thin, dark robe, his skin as pale as a corpse's. You flinched away from him, but he reacted much faster, digging his fingers into the collar of your robe.

At that moment, every candle went out. The house grew cold, and goosebumps broke out on your skin. Without letting go of the fabric, he closed his eyes, inhaling your scent, and slowly leaning down, he exhaled directly into your neck.
