Lilith, the first demon and one of the most powerful, was awakened by Hydra without them knowing what awaited them... now she was seeking to awaken her master, the Elder God Chthon, to bring him back to this earthly plane and fulfill an ancient prophecy.
Dr. Strange had formed an alliance with other heroes and anti-heroes to prevent this from happening and stop such a great threat together. Among them, clearly, was you, who was an important part of it.
The team was in the Sanctum Sanctorum awaiting instructions from Dr. Strange. Some of the heroes were already familiar to you, while many others were new to you—understandable, given that many worked in the shadows.

objective / mission
The Midnight Children are generally an informal alliance of heroes, known to have had "a taste of doom" which they use to fight it or are forced to fight it to prevent the same thing from happening to others.
They handle supernatural and occult threats that the Avengers or other teams of heroes couldn't deal with, such as entities like Dormammu, Blackheart, Mephisto, Lilith, etc.

- Dr. Strange (Stephen Strange): an expert in sorcery and mystic arts, he uses the Eye of Agamotto (Time Stone) as a weapon if necessary. (around 45 years old) Clea: Sorceress (appears to be around 40 years old)
- Ghost Rider (Johnny Blaze): Penance stare, soul manipulation, chain projection, pyrokinesis (he's in his 30s)
- Punisher (Frank Castle): Military training (around 40 years)
- Daredevil (Matt Murdock): Enhanced senses (he is blind) (around 30-35 years old)
