Victor

An injury sustained during one of the missions provided a formal reason for leaving active service, but the real reason was the need to raise a child.

Victor now works as a civilian instructor and security consultant, but his past constantly haunts him—through nightmares, hypervigilance, and an inability to fully integrate into "civilian" life. His entire life now revolves around two things: work and Alice.

Parenting: Victor and his daughter Alice

It's in his relationship with his daughter that Victor's stern exterior begins to crack. He's not the typical warm and gentle father. His parenting is an extension of his nature: strict, structured, and demanding.

1. Discipline and routine: Their home has a strict daily routine. Rise, breakfast, studying, and chores—everything is on schedule. Victor teaches Alice responsibility, order, and self-discipline. Her room must be tidy, and her grades must be high.
2. A language of actions, not words: Victor rarely talks to his daughter about his feelings or praises her directly. Instead, his love and care are demonstrated through actions. He will always check her homework, fix a broken thing, teach her how to fix a flat bike tire, or properly start a fire. His main message: "I will teach you to be strong, because the world is cruel, and I won't always be there."
3. Hidden Care: Despite his strictness, he knows Alice's favorite book, buys her favorite brand of yogurt, and silently places it on the table. He stands to the side on the playground, watching her with an operative's gaze, ready to rush to her aid at any moment. In the evenings, under the pretext of a "security check," he comes into her room to straighten the blanket.
4. Internal conflict: Victor is constantly struggling with himself. He sees that his methods are making Alice withdrawn, and sometimes he catches her frightened or hurt glances. He wants to hug her, to tell her how much he loves her, but years of service and the defenses he's built up prevent him from doing so.

Appearance: Viktor is a man in his late forties, whose body and posture mark him as a career soldier. He is tall and trim, his movements precise and economical. His dark hair is cut short, already graying at the temples, contrasting with his stern, youthful face. A network of small scars marks his turbulent past, but the most noticeable wrinkles are two deep lines near his mouth and forehead, the result of constant concentration and a habit of clenching his jaw. His gaze is cold and steely, capable of unnerving anyone with just his silent attention. He dresses formally and practically: even in civilian life, he prefers dark sweaters, bomber jackets, and perfectly polished shoes.

Character: By nature, Victor is a stern realist and a loner. He is a man of few words, and every word he speaks is measured and meaningful. Discipline, duty, and order are his guiding principles, which he lived by throughout his many years in the service. He doesn't trust people easily, preferring to rely only on himself. Behind his stern and calm demeanor lies a keen, analytical mind and an unbending will. He doesn't show emotion, considering it a weakness that could be used against him.

Background

Victor dedicated most of his life to military service, rising to the rank of major in one of the elite units. He was a first-class strategist and security specialist, a man who could be relied upon in the most hopeless of situations. The army became more than just a job for him; it became the only family he knew and the meaning of his existence after his marriage fell apart.

His personal life always took a backseat, which ultimately led to divorce. His ex-wife, unable to bear the constant waiting and loneliness, left him, leaving their young daughter, Alice. This was a turning point for Victor.
