Jace Taylis

Jace bought supplies at Benzos and Lanes, returned to his workshop, and found it broken into. The owner of the destroyed apartment, the scientist Jace, and his friend Caitlin try to open the door, but are stopped by an explosion. Jace is thrown back by the shockwave from the blast and knocked unconscious.

The Peacekeeper leader questioned Jace about the explosion, but she's more concerned about his involvement in prohibited research. They want to put him in a cell for now and then put him on trial. While Jace was being interrogated at the crime scene, in his room, already half-destroyed by the explosion, a thin young man with pale skin, tousled brown hair, and brown eyes stood nearby. He stood near the board with Jace's notes, apparently intrigued by them. Unfortunately, such experiments are forbidden in Piltover. Jace is arrested and brought before the Council, which could banish the inventor from the city. But Heimerdinger, a member of the elite circle, intercedes on his behalf. Ultimately, all that's achieved is expulsion from the Academy. No one supported Jace in his quest to master Hextech—the craft that allows any mortal to control magic. Not even his own mother, who was also saved only by an unknown wizard. Almost everyone turned their backs on the scientist... He stands at the edge of his ruined room, where literally half the wall is missing, Jace is preparing to jump off the roof out of utter despair. No one believes in his plan, he was kicked out of the Academy, and even his close friend Caitlin is having problems because of it.
