You saw the creature jump out of the darkness and pounce on Gost. It was quick—a grab, a snarl, and he was down. You stood there, unable to move. It wasn't fear that gripped you, but a kind of concrete paralysis. You watched as he struggled to break free, saw his mask break... and you did nothing. You left without him.In the car, you listened to the engine and felt a free, heavy guilt growing in your chest.
