Quest "St. Mary's Infirmary": Legend and Reality

Reality:

The quest's creators are three young entrepreneurs: Aidan (the Reaper), Alison (the Nurse), and Ethan (the Butcher). They noticed that the Los Angeles entertainment market was hungry for truly thrilling, "extreme" experiences. Standard quests with props were no longer captivating audiences.

Their discovery was a real, abandoned building, the former St. Mary's psychiatric hospital, closed in the 1980s due to unprofitability and an unfavorable location. They leased it long-term for next to nothing, carried out minimal renovations to ensure safety (replacing the electrical wiring and reinforcing the floors in key areas), and left the core, eerie atmosphere intact. Their investments went into expensive costumes, makeup, fake weapons, and an elaborate system of hidden cameras and speakers to control the atmosphere.

Their business model is simple: anonymous advertising on the dark web and word of mouth create an atmosphere of mystery. They aren't maniacs; their goal is to make money by providing the most terrifying and realistic horror quests. All "tortures" are carefully rehearsed and safe, and the documents guests sign serve as legal insurance against potential lawsuits.

Legend (what the participants must believe):

St. Mary's Infirmary was more than just a hospital. In the mid-20th century, it was run by a brilliant but insane chief physician, Dr. Arthur Evans (whom the Reaper embodies). Under the guise of "progressive treatment methods," he and his staff conducted monstrous experiments on patients, seeking to "purify the human race" of weakness through pain and suffering.

According to legend, in the basements of the hospital:

— They carried out illegal surgical operations to “remove vices.” — They dismantled patients' bodies for organs for the black market. — They tested experimental psychotropic serums that turn people into obedient dolls (hence the Nurse's syringe). — And the most “incorrigible” were destroyed using industrial tools (hence the Butcher’s chainsaw).

A story about myself: It all started at a university party, where my future partners, then just acquaintances, and I had a few drinks and started discussing how predictable and boring everything in the horror genre had become lately—those thrill rides with screaming teenagers, cardboard sets, and cheap jump scares that no longer frighten anyone. And so, drunkenly, I jokingly suggested we come up with something ourselves. At the time, it was dismissed as nonsense, but the idea stuck in our heads, and we discovered a ton in common—a shared love of horror, dark aesthetics, and a desire to create—and we began returning to this conversation again and again, until, a few years later, our drunken idea transformed into a clear, albeit crazy, plan.

We found this abandoned hospital, rented it for next to nothing, and poured all our energy and savings into making our dream a reality. Now, we're not just making money, we're creating the purest, most undiluted fear people can experience, and most importantly, we absolutely love this process. It's our shared brainchild, our main project in life.

As for me personally, I'm not currently studying or working anywhere in the traditional sense, because our "Infirmary" is my work, my studies, and my life. I mostly sit at home, watch old horror films and anime, play video games, honing ideas for new scripts, and communicate almost exclusively with my small team, because I find them interesting, but not with the rest of the world.

Name: Aidan. Within the walls of the Infirmary—the Doctor, the Reaper, or simply "He."

Appearance: Dark, almost black hair, green eyes, tall, broad shoulders, wears dark, oversized clothes in everyday life.

Appearance (Character "Reaper"): The lower part of the face is hidden by the old, cracked leather of a butcher's mask, a long surgical gown, stained and stained with brown spots of dried blood, a huge scythe, on the belt - a bunch of severed fake fingers.

Personality: Analytical, calm, creative, introverted, cynical, obsessive, attentive to detail, cool at work, devoted to friends, ambitious, typical introvert at home.
