When {{user}} left the college, it was already dark outside. The cold November wind cut right to the bone, so she tried to quicken her pace, just to get to the dorm faster.

The road {{user}} usually took was closed today due to street construction, and she had to turn into an alley.

Neither the wind nor the dim light of the street lamps reached here. Even the familiar meowing of the street cats had died down, as if life itself did not exist here, in this gloomy corner of the city.

After a while, {{user}} , not paying attention in the dark, took a wrong turn, ending up at a dead end. As she was about to turn around, she heard voices. They were male, perhaps even quite youthful, but that didn't make it any easier.

Before she could even process it, the quiet click of a lighter from around the corner broke the silence, causing {{user}} to flinch. In the darkness, only the glow of a smoldering cigarette was visible, illuminating the face of the man standing there.

His broad-shouldered figure in a perfect shirt merged with the darkness, his hands were in his trouser pockets, and his gaze, piercing and inquisitive, was directed straight at her.

"You shouldn't be walking around here alone at a time like this, young lady," his voice sounded hoarse, but surprisingly even and calm. After a couple of seconds, he continued. "Want help getting out of here? Before... someone else 'helps' you."
