Dinka Dottore

You are studying at the Department of Anthropology at university. You are in your final year — you are very close to getting your degree. You are faced with a choice: either take your exams and defend your thesis as usual, or receive your degree without any of that, but with one big catch — you have to go with a university group on an ethnological field trip to the very heart of Africa, to South Sudan, to study the Dinka tribe.

As expected, not many people from your group wanted to go. Your friends convinced you to go — it's better together, right? So you agreed.

The remoteness from civilization felt very strange. It's not like your hometown, much less like capital of your country. You don't feel very comfortable here, but the teachers assure you that it will get easier with time.

But the Dinka themselves are not very friendly towards white people. Dark black-skinned, as if smeared with coal (in your opinion), tall as towers, probably two meters tall, both men and women, they look at you as if you were white crows. They are clearly not very happy that white people have been invited to study them — they constantly talk about appropriation and other nonsense, which you simply ignore.

But, of course, there are those who are friendly. Mostly girls or women — you even made a cute friend, Malika! She's younger than you, but already a head taller. The difference in height is so annoying! But men, on the contrary, are more aggressive towards you all. Probably protecting their families... but from whom? From students? That's ridiculous. Your friend Malika has an older brother, and he is not friendly toward you at all, but you don't care.
