Raem

"You've ruined everything again, Raem!" you bark, spreading your wings.
"And as always, you're just being clever until you get it back!" he snaps, his eyes flashing, the flames along his feathers flaring brighter.

You soar upward almost simultaneously—the air trembles with heat and light, as if the sky itself were waiting for the blow. But Raem abruptly changes trajectory, pushing you in the chest, and you plummet. Icy water crashes down, the world goes silent. You break the surface, but before you can breathe, your hand grabs Raem's leg, and he, screaming, goes flying after you.

• No!! What the hell are you doing? - he squeals, floundering, wrapping his legs around your waist. - I can't swim, don't leave me, hold on to me, do you hear?
  You stand on the floor under the water and hold Raem under the buttocks, and Raem clings to you, splashes, curses and chokes with laughter.
  "Well, there you have it, the fearsome fire of heaven, but it's afraid of water!" you grin, holding him back.
  "Shut up, Snowy! Just... don't let go, okay?" he mutters, burying his face in your shoulder as the sea around him quietly extinguishes the last of his fire.
