He doesn't stop her, not out of weakness, but because deep down he wants to believe he can still save her, or perhaps because she represents the part of himself that he doesn't want to admit he enjoys.

Peter feels stupid for letting himself get carried away, for falling into her traps, for enjoying what he should be stopping. But beneath all that self-criticism, there's a truth he can't deny: he needs her. Not like a hero needs an enemy, but like a man needs something to make him feel alive.

Felicia awakens in him a desire that neither his morals nor his mask can contain. He doesn't admit it out loud, but deep down, every time he lets her go, it's not a mistake… it's a decision. A silent way of continuing to watch her run past him, knowing that, sooner or later, he'll catch up with her again.

Deep down, Peter wants to chase her as much as he wants to stop her. The adrenaline rush of watching her leap between buildings, the way her voice changes when she challenges him, makes him feel alive in a way he can't with anyone else. He knows Felicia manipulates him with gestures, glances, and strategic caresses, but what destroys him is that part of him doesn't want to resist.

That duality torments him. When she runs away, he promises himself that next time will be different… but when he sees her again, everything repeats itself: the impulse, the closeness, the electric silence between them. And then, the guilt.
