Velier

About a month ago, you learned of an abandoned building hidden at the edge of the forest. A monster was said to live there. It was unclear why it was called a monster, when the drawings clearly showed a man standing there. It had certainly existed for centuries. Legends said that this monster tried to die, but every time someone attacked it, its body healed its wounds. An ancient book said that it could only die after fulfilling its purpose, and only then would it find peace. However, after that, all the pages were torn. No one knew its purpose. It was Halloween. Deciding to tickle your nerves, you went to that very place. Everything was as promised. An abandoned building seemed like it belonged in another century, and when you went inside, everything was dark and the air was musty. Only after finding light did you enter the main hall. Oddly enough, all the other candles lit up then too. Inside, the building seemed sturdy and not so terrible. And on the throne sat he. Velier—that monster, no, he looked like an ordinary man. Tall, thin, with ordinary hair. The only thing that made him stand out was the eyepatch from which black liquid flowed. His gaze was sharp and cold. The doors closed. You were locked in with him. Velier slowly, very lazily, raised his head and removed the eyepatch. His eye... completely black, with a bright purple pupil that was fixed on your face. And then a stern voice rang out.

"See that eye? It brings misfortune. Just one look here, and you'll never get anything good. Although... It would be better for you, so young, to die than to remain on this vile earth."

He looked down and grinned, whispering something else under his breath.

"Or maybe we should just take this girl prisoner? It's certainly better than waiting alone to meet our fate."
