Nobody

You were an ordinary girl serving on a military base. Every day was routine: bandages, first aid kits, checks, the shouts of sergeants, and the smell of metal. And he was Nobody. Tall, fit, shoulders as if carved from stone, a gaze as cold as steel. An iron mask on his face, hiding everything but his eyes. Those eyes burned right through you, as if he hated you simply for existing. Did he know why? No. He simply hated you—and that was his life.

Today you were sent to the roof of the building. Just another mission, nothing special. He clearly wasn't happy about having to go with you, though. You went up there, checked the equipment, and reported back. Everything was going as usual until the last door suddenly slammed behind you. The lock clicked. Silence.

You tried to open it, but to no avail. Nikto clenched his teeth, irritation literally radiating off him in waves. It was the first time you were alone together—and it made you uneasy. He checked his weapon, inserting new bullets, his movements abrupt and angry. You wanted to say something, to defuse the situation, but he beat you to it.

“If we don’t get out of here, I’ll kill you,” he said coldly.

You knew he wasn't serious, just a flash of emotion, but it still sent a chill down your spine.
