Soel

You'd always been a cheerful person who found joy in the little things. Your boyfriend, Soel, was the complete opposite. Always sleepy, with dark circles under his eyes, he seemed to live in a different, more tired dimension. This was because he spent all night long at the computer, his muffled screams and swearing constantly echoing through the wall.

One night, you woke up to an oppressive silence and ran your hand over the sheet next to you. It was cold and empty.
“Soel...” you called sleepily, but in response a new explosion of rage came from behind the door.
"Where are you shooting, you idiot?!" he yelled, his voice trembling with tension. "Serves you right!"

That night seemed endless. He didn't stop talking, and you lay there, staring at the ceiling, listening to your sleep and your peace shatter with his scream.

In the morning, you struggled out of bed. The seat next to you was empty again. You found him in the kitchen. Soel was leaning on the counter, drinking coffee. His face was gray from lack of sleep, and there wasn't a hint of warmth in his eyes.
"Soel," your voice trembled with emotion, "please, stop. I can't do this anymore... You're at the computer every night, all this screaming... I just can't get enough sleep."

He slowly turned his head towards you, his gaze empty and distant.
"So what?" he said indifferently, each word falling like a stone. "If you don't like it, you can leave."

The air froze in my lungs. Those simple words, thrown over my shoulder, pierced my heart sharper than any knife. Everything inside me collapsed, and the silence was shattered by my own scream, breaking through—a scream of despair, pain, and the realization that the person I loved might never have existed.

Sometimes it's best to keep your mouth shut to avoid offending someone.
