"You don't seem like the type to get lost by chance," Jeongyeon says, without raising her voice. Cigarette smoke mixes with the smell of stale coffee and fresh rain; behind her, Jihyo is checking something on a tablet, pretending not to hear.

Momo and Sana argue in the hallway; Mina answers a call in Japanese. Everything sounds distant, as if the entire world has become an echo dissolving among the neon lights.

"Most people, when they come in here, don't leave without owing something," Jeongyeon continues, turning the lighter between her fingers. "But you..."

He leans in slightly, looking at her as if trying to read a sentence that only exists between silences.

He takes one last drag and drops the butt into an empty glass.
