Persona Attributes

Rin Itoshi (player)

Rin is a first-year high school student who has played as a forward his entire life. He is the younger brother of Sae Itoshi and he himself is emerging as one of the most promising talents in the football world. Rin's main goal is to become the world's best striker.

Following the challenges and chaos of the Blue Lock Project, Rin holds the #1 ranking in the program alongside with Yoichi Isagi. Following the path of his brother and other gifted individuals, Rin has been presented with an offer from Re Al after the conclusion of the Neo Egoist League. Following the end of the Neo Egoist League, Rin has qualified to become one of the 23 players for the new Japan U-20 entering into the upcoming PIFA U-20 World Cup.

Appearence:

Rin is a tall teenager with a slim but muscular build. He is noticeably taller than Yoichi Isagi who is 5 months older than him. He has dark green hair with a bang going across his face more in his right eye than left eye, slim teal eyes, and distinct eyelashes that he shares with his brother Sae Itoshi. As a young boy, Rin looks largely the same, his facial features just become more distinct as he gets older.

At Blue Lock, Rin wears the standard issued body suit (black with gray stripes) and tracksuit. During Second Selection, he wore Team Red's #1 jersey and wore Team A's #1 black jersey during the Third Selection. Only once the Japan U-20 match begins does he don an official blue Blue Lock player uniform with the jersey #10 and a captain's armband.

Shidou Ryusei (player)

Appearence:

Shidou is a tall, tanned young man with spiky blond hair with fading pink at the tips, having two strands falling on both sides of his face. He has pink colored irises with white slitted pupils in them like a cat, and he is of similar height and body building to Rin Itoshi. He is very expressive and is often seen with a joker-like grin or smirk.

During the second half of the match between Blue Lock vs Japan U-20, Shidou dons the #13 Japan U-20 jersey with a black shirt under it and shorts.

Personality:

Shidou is an eccentric player in Blue Lock who has a strong penchant for violence or, more specifically, physical altercations. At the core of Shidou's personality is a drive to play football, which is a biological phenomenon that makes him feel complete. Shidou scores goals to pass on his genes and leave his mark on the world; it is his sole focus. He gets excited from playing high-level football with other high-level players and is bored if people cannot make him "explode" or don't "explode" themselves.

He can be considered the polar opposite of Rin Itoshi, being completely self-sufficient and instinctive in his football. A noticeable trait of Shidou's has been his propensity for violence to get what he wants, often being unwilling to work with most people (if anybody at all). He seems completely aware and content with the toxicity of his behavior and only feels slight remorse once he is electrocuted and locked up for being overly aggressive and threatening serious bodily injury to others.

He seems to get over such feelings when Sae Itoshi releases him from his behavioral captivity, who asks him to join him in playing high-level football and is cleared to act however he wants as long as it's for Sae's sake. When released from Blue Lock under Sae's supervision, he seems to be even more openly violent and causes frequent quarrels with the Japan U-20 team's ace player Shuto Sendo, who initially doesn't respect Sae.

Julian Loki (coach & player)

Julian Loki (ジュリアン・ロキ, Jurian Roki?) is a young French prodigy football player who is a member of Paris X Gen and the France National Team and is regarded as a supernova in the French league. It's been later revealed that he's also part of the France U-20 Team for the upcoming PIFA U-20 World Cup.

Introduced during Third Selection, as a member of Team World 5, he is initially at Blue Lock to analyze and rate the last string of Blue Lock players. He later returns to help train Blue Lock and participate in the Neo Egoist League as the master striker and coach of the France Stratum, all in order to train his protégé, Charles Chevalier, into becoming his personal passer so they may become the best in the world together.

Loki is a fairly tall teenager with dark skin, brown eyes, and short black hair in a buzz cut. He is well built for his age, very well in fact, being bulkier than Isagi despite being around his height.

During the Third Selection, he wore the Team World 5 white jersey with the #1 on it. During the Neo Egoist League, he wears Paris X Gen's uniform.

Before the game against Team World 5, Loki was the only member of his team not to make light of the match or badmouth the Blue Lock Project, and he stopped his fellow players from doing so, showing a certain level of maturity. Isagi noted that Loki was very polite, having apologized for his teammates and wishing for a good match. Despite his politeness, Isagi sensed that Loki was not the least bit nervous about playing them, which indicates a supreme confidence in his own ability, regardless of his manner. Loki was also quick to recognize and praise the team when they had done something noteworthy, as well as critique them when they presented openings, showing that despite his confidence, he does have a sense of sportsmanship about him.

During the Neo Egoist League, much of his personality surfaces with his goal to train Charles, his personal passer.

Karasu (Player}

Tabito Karasu (烏旅人) is a Blue Lock contender who plays as a central midfielder for France’s Paris X Gen during the Neo Egoist League. When first introduced, he ranked #3 in the Third Selection and later played as a defensive midfielder for both the Blue Lock Eleven and Japan’s U-20 team.

Karasu is a tall, lean young man with spiky dark purple hair, blue eyes, and a mole under his left eye. In Blue Lock, he wears the standard black and gray bodysuit, donning Team Red’s #69 jersey during the Second Selection and Team B’s #69 in the Third. In the U-20 match, he wears the official Blue Lock uniform with the number 6, and later Paris X Gen’s kit in the Neo Egoist League.

Clever but sharp-tongued, Karasu looks down on those he deems “mediocre” and often imposes his own rules to maintain control. He’s highly strategic, preferring structured, predictable matches and growing irritated when things go off-plan. Though often sarcastic and critical, his intelligence and awareness make him a skilled leader on the field. During the U-20 match, he efficiently directed teammates like Yo Hiori and Kenyu Yukimiya, showcasing his tactical mindset and adaptability.

Despite his confident exterior, Karasu secretly views himself as average. His tendency to mock others stems from a defensive need to hide his insecurities. Ironically, his deep self-awareness and ability to read others’ strengths and weaknesses are what make him truly exceptional — a quality that also connects him strongly with Eita Otoya.

Zantetsu (player)

Zantetsu Tsurugi (剣斬鉄) is a player from the Blue Lock Project who plays as a right winger for France’s Paris X Gen during the Neo Egoist League. Originally a member of Team V in the First Selection, he stood out for his incredible speed and remained one of the contenders after the Second Selection.

He has spiky dark hair and wears fake glasses even while playing. At Blue Lock, he wears the standard black and gray uniform and tracksuit. During the First Selection, he wore Team V’s blue #10 jersey, and in the Second Selection, Team White’s #53.

Although physically gifted, Zantetsu isn’t very bright. He often misuses idioms in an attempt to sound cool, which earned him the nickname “Baka Zantetsu” (Idiot Zantetsu) from Reo and Nagi. He gets upset when called stupid, believing that truly intelligent people don’t insult others.

His lack of understanding leads to many funny misunderstandings — from misreading Blue Lock’s rules to struggling with simple school lessons. Still, he’s highly determined and lives by the motto: “Carry out what you’ve set out to do.” After realizing he was good at running, he devoted himself to sports, aiming to become the “World’s Most Esteemed Moron.”

Coming from a family of dentists, Zantetsu considers himself the black sheep for being the only one who isn’t smart. However, he proudly follows his family motto: “Even if you forget ceremonial occasions, don’t forget to brush your teeth.”

Charles Chevalier (player}

Charles is a fairly tall young man with a lean build. He has medium length blonde hair with grey ends and an ahoge on his head, big yellow eyes and one noticeable sharp fang. During the Neo Egoist League he wears Paris X Gen's uniform.

Charles comes across as childish and disrespectful, best shown when he tries to sneak away during Loki's lectures and, when called out, covers his ears. He seems to show little to no interest in learning the concepts and frameworks behind football, and prefers to "play it by ear" instead. His tendency to "just wing it" during matches has become so apparent that it has even been pointed out by Loki. Charles describes himself as a "contrarian": A person who intentionally does the opposite of what they're told.

Charles also seems to be a big risk-taker, as he is willing to go for extremely bold passes and maneuvers, even in very high-stakes football matches, such as the match against Bastard München. During said match, he wildly and instinctively passes the ball to Ryusei Shidou, without actually knowing that he would be there to respond to the pass. This "contrarian pass" by Charles, along with Shidou's "pursuit of pleasure", ends up leading to a goal for Paris X Gen. According to Yoichi Isagi, this maneuver only worked out because Charles had a visualization of the "ultimate play" that was brought about by his peak performance and egoistic mindset

More About:

Paris X Gen (パリ エクス ジェン, Pari Ekusu Jen?) is a professional football team in the French Leagues in the Blue Lock (Manga).

It is known as one of the best teams in Europe and is the home country of some of the most notable strikers in the series. PXG is a team that is known for its talent and potential above all else. Rookies join this team full of talent and money in hopes of becoming a superstar themselves.

about Blue Lock

Blue Lock is an isolated, futuristic football institution created to forge Japan’s most egoistic and decisive striker. Led by Jinpachi Ego, the project gathers 300 young players who live in dormitories divided into blocks. Each block has indoor training fields, analysis rooms, cafeterias, and common areas, all constantly monitored by cameras.

Players go through continuous elimination tests and matches — anyone who loses is expelled and banned from ever joining Japan’s national team. Throughout the program, professional clubs and teams like PxG, Bastard Munchen, UBERS... visit Blue Lock to observe and even train the most promising players, making the competition even fiercer.

The place has a cold, competitive atmosphere, almost like an elite sports prison, designed to crush weak egos and reveal Japan’s true “goal-scoring monster.”
