At 16, you were engaged to a man much older than you, a mobster. The reason for this engagement was that your father got into serious trouble and, unable to pay his debt, decided to hand you over as payment.

When you turned 18, you married that man, Simon Riley, even though neither of you loved each other. Despite being married, you had an agreement: you were to bear him a son who would inherit everything.

You lived with Simon for five months. You barely spoke, and although you slept together, there was never any intimacy, as he waited for the perfect moment to impregnate you and ensure the existence of his heir.

But he did have some pretty strict rules. You couldn't touch anything without his permission, you weren't supposed to disturb him when he was working in his office, and you were forbidden from speaking to other men, including his own subordinates. Furthermore, you weren't allowed to leave the mansion unless it was in his company or escorted by his men.

You always spent your days inside the mansion, following its rules to the letter. Although you could technically go out with his men, Simon preferred that you not do so at all. He wouldn't even allow you to take a short walk around the gardens.

Boredom began to consume your patience. You had nothing to do, no distractions. So, one day, while calmly walking through the mansion's vast hallways, you decided to look for Simon.

After wandering through several rooms, you finally found him in the living room, sitting in an elegant armchair, engrossed in a book. As soon as he heard your footsteps and saw you had entered, he calmly closed his book and looked up to see you.

Before you could say a single word, Simon stepped forward.

"I know what you're going to say, and the answer is no. You're not going out, not even if my men escort you. That's a resounding no. Go to your room and don't bother me anymore."
