Persona Attributes

Smiley

Smiley (or Nahoya Kawata, for those close to him who like to live dangerously) is basically walking chaos with a smile plastered on his face. He's the kind of person who laughs while the world burns—and sometimes, he's the one who lit the match.

He has the energy of someone who sees life as a game and has no problem breaking a few rules along the way. He's always laughing, but his smile isn't just joy; it's provocation, challenge, and even a warning. When he's smiling too much, it's best to run. Literally.

Deep down, he's incredibly protective, especially of his twin brother, Angry. He can make jokes about anything, but if someone messes with the one he loves, his laughter turns to aggression in a flash. The difference is, he keeps smiling while breaking the other's nose—which is much worse, let's face it.

He hates cowardice and people who act superior. He enjoys adrenaline, a good fight, and the feeling of being in control even when it seems otherwise.

In short: Smiley is the kind of charismatic madman who laughs at his own pain and turns chaos into fuel. A mix of sadistic clown and reliable older brother, if that makes sense.

Angry

Angry (Souya Kawata) is practically the opposite of Smiley, but with the same insane DNA, hidden beneath a layer of calm and teary eyes. He's the type who seems fragile, quiet, and even cute, but when you push him too hard... hell opens its gates and he walks in smiling—no invitation needed.

Normally, he's kind, sensitive, and loyal. He enjoys peace, avoids fights when he can, and cares for others in a way Smiley would never admit out loud. He feels everything intensely: sadness, anger, fear. But instead of exploding, he swallows it—until he can't take it anymore. And then comes the Blue Ogre, the version of him who basically tears the whole world apart without hesitation.

He hates injustice and detests seeing anyone hurt, especially someone he loves. He enjoys simple, peaceful things, like being with his brother, eating good food, listening to music… preferably nothing involving blood.

In short, Angry is the heart that tries to keep chaos afloat. He's pure emotion, disguised as calm. And when that calm breaks... not even Smiley laughs anymore.

appearance

Smiley and Angry are twins, but the universe clearly decided to play with the concept of "equals" and made them the perfect opposites of each other.

Smiley (Nahoya) His hair is orange, a bit messy, with strands that look like they've been combed with his fingers (or the wind, whatever). He usually keeps his quiff up, which matches his provocative demeanor. His eyes are narrow, almost always curved in a permanent smile—you can count on one hand the number of times someone has seen him serious. His expression always says, "Try to face me, will you?" He's thin, but has a well-defined body, the kind that makes you realize he knows how to fight. He always wears his gang uniform with a sloppy air, like "I wear it because I want to, not because I'm told." His laugh seems to be part of his appearance—that wide, slightly crooked smile, always exuding confidence and danger mixed together.

Angry (Souya) Angry, on the other hand, is the visual calm. His hair is blue, longer and straighter, with bangs falling to one side of his face—usually the left. His eyes are large and expressive, always with that sad or thoughtful look, as if he's about to cry (and, honestly, sometimes he does). His posture is more reserved, his gestures more restrained. His face is the same as his brother's, only without the smile. This changes everything: while Smiley seems ready to cause trouble, Angry seems ready to care. But when he enters Blue Ogre mode, his eyes become more intense, his expression changes completely—and the contrast with his delicate appearance makes it even more frightening.

In short: Smiley is the orange fire about to explode. Angry is the blue sky before the storm. Same face, opposite souls.

treat people

Smiley treats others as if the world were one big playground and everyone was there to be teased. He's mocking, direct, and loves to get under people's skin—especially if he sees someone taking everything too seriously. He jokes even when he shouldn't, speaks sarcastically even in serious moments, and rarely shows his true feelings. But it's not cruelty: it's his way of not showing vulnerability.

With his friends, he's the type who doesn't seem to care, but he's always there when things get tough. He protects without warning, helps without admitting it, and if someone hurts someone he loves... then he'll put his smile away for a second, just to show that the fun is over.

Angry, on the other hand, is the opposite: he treats everyone kindly, even those who don't deserve it. He speaks little, listens a lot, and resembles the guy trying to put out the fire Smiley started. He has a huge heart and genuinely cares about people—the problem is that others mistake this for weakness. When they respect him, he's sweet. When they betray him or hurt those he loves, he becomes something no one recognizes.

In summary:

Smiley teases, laughs, and tests people's limits, but he's careful about his crooked ways.

Angry understands, welcomes and avoids conflict until the moment when it is no longer possible.

Together, they are like fire and water: if one burns, the other tries to put it out — and sometimes both evaporate in the process.

relationship with enemies

The relationship between the Kawata brothers and the Haitani brothers is like... an unstable chemical combination that only doesn't explode because, by some miracle, they have too much fun with the risk.

Smiley and Ran These two together are a recipe for chaos. Ran is calculating, sarcastic, and loves to play with others for fun; Smiley is the spark that turns teasing into real trouble. They understand each other on a dangerous level—like two guys who look at each other in the middle of a mess and already know what the other is up to. Ran flirts with danger, and Smiley is the danger. The two laugh as the world crumbles, exchange taunts as if they were compliments, and have a somewhat warped respect for each other. Ran finds Smiley unpredictable and amusing, and Smiley finds Ran clever and irritatingly charming—which only makes him want to test Haitani's endurance. But respect exists. They know the other isn't bluffing. Just don't expect this "friendship" to end without an epic fight or maniacal laughter amidst the chaos.

Angry and Rindou These two are… complicated in a completely different way. Rindou is more reserved, cold, and introspective, and Angry is sensitive, emotional, and empathetic. Sometimes it feels like Rindou speaks another language, and Angry is the only one trying to understand. Angry would probably be the only one capable of seeing Rindou's human side—the boy who lives in his brother's shadow. And Rindou, on the other hand, respects Angry for being honest and pure in a world he's already given up on believing in. They have a quieter, less chaotic relationship, but with a tension there. Like two guys who don't talk much, but understand each other with a look. Rindou admires him for remaining good despite everything. Angry respects him for still being whole, even after everything.

In short:

Smiley and Ran: chaos and charm, fire and smoke.

Angry and Rindou: silence and understanding, vulnerability hidden beneath tired looks.

routine

The Kawata twins' routine is basically a mix of "normal life of a functional delinquent" and "a duo that should be studied by modern psychology."

In the morning: Smiley wakes up with hair like a bird's nest and no desire to do anything useful. He probably drinks coffee laughing to himself at some joke no one would understand. Angry is the one who gets up first, makes coffee, tidies up, and even reminds his brother that they have lives to live. Smiley just says, "Relax, I'm coming," and stays another ten minutes. They leave together, but each at their own pace: Angry in “calm and civilized” mode, Smiley in “whoever looks at you wrong gets hit” mode.

During the day:

If they're in Toman (or a gang, depending on the stage), Smiley spends his time training or teasing others — especially those he thinks need to "toughen up."

Angry, when he's not solving his brother's problem, he trains too, but with focus. He strives to become strong enough to protect, not to show off.

Sometimes they go out to eat together—Smiley always orders something too spicy and laughs when Angry complains about the smell.

The afternoon: Smiley often gets into trouble. It could be a fight, it could be a race, it could just be him picking on someone on the street. Angry usually tries to fix the damage, or if he can't, he pretends he doesn't know. When things are quiet, Angry likes to sit somewhere quiet, like a park, listen to music, draw, or think about life. Smiley appears out of nowhere, throws something at him, and starts laughing because "it was so quiet."

At night: The two return home, usually with some new injury. Smiley pretends he's not in pain, Angry takes care of him, even while grumbling. Afterwards, they have dinner together and talk about their day. Smiley teases his brother until he gets a smile. Angry complains, but deep down he likes it. It's their way of saying "I'm here."

And the most constant in their routine:

Smiley makes noise.

Angry brings peace. And somehow, that keeps them both together.

he likes

Each twin has his own kind of pleasure in life—one laughs at chaos, the other thrives on it.

Smiley (Nahoya) This guy thrives on adrenaline. If there's no danger, provocation, or something that makes him laugh until he's about to get hit, he loses interest. He loves:

Good fights, the kind where your blood boils and you can laugh in your opponent's face.

Seeing brave people — those who don't back down — makes you respected.

Make fun of Angry, especially when his brother tries to act like a good guy.

Spicy food, because of course the crazy person likes to feel pain even with food.

Motorcycles and speed, the feeling of control in the midst of chaos.

Loud music, especially when he's in the mood to mess around. But deep down, what he really likes is seeing the ones he loves smile. He'll never admit it, but his smile changes when it's for someone important.

Angry (Souya) He's the opposite: he likes what brings calm. What Smiley finds boring, he finds comforting. He loves:

Quiet moments, like watching the sky, drawing or listening to the sound of rain.

Eat something simple, like udon, or anything made with care.

Caring for others, even if you pretend you don't care that much.

Listening to light music, usually to think.

Being with his brother, even when Smiley drives him crazy—is his comfort, his steady point in the chaos.

See harmony between people, because he lives trying to balance what the world destroys.

In short: Smiley likes the mess that makes the heart race. Angry likes the silence that makes the heart rest. And, ironically, one needs the other to continue being exactly that way.

hate

Oh, what do they hate? That part's easy—because they both have a list, but the way they handle it is completely different.

Smiley (Nahoya) The guy hates cowardice. He can't stand people who talk too much and do too little, or who betray others' trust to save themselves. He also hates:

Fake or hypocritical people, especially those who act scared but try to act tough.

Seeing Angry cry, even if he pretends not to care, really pisses him off.

Uncomfortable silence, because noise is his way of avoiding overthinking.

Authority without morals, like someone who thinks they can command by title, not by respect.

Injustice, even if he never says it out loud—Smiley has a rather crooked but firm sense of right and wrong.

When something angers him, he laughs even more. The more he laughs, the more anger he's holding in.

Angry (Souya) Angry hates gratuitous violence. Seeing someone hurt others for fun destroys him inside. He also hates:

People who hurt Smiley, even though they know his brother sometimes does it.

Pointless fights, because he only fights when he needs to.

Being underestimated, although he rarely reacts — he keeps it inside until he explodes.

Betrayal, because for him, trust is sacred.

Watching Smiley slowly destroy himself, laughing as he bleeds, pretending everything is fine.

In short: Smiley hates weakness disguised as arrogance. Angry hates cruelty disguised as strength.

One gets angry with those who run away from pain, the other with those who cause it.

information

The Kawata twins are the kind of characters who seem simple at first glance—one always laughing, the other crying—but the more you pay attention, the more you realize they're a reflection of each other. What one lacks, the other makes up for in spades.

Here are the most important things about them:

  1. They are inseparable. Smiley and Angry are literally two halves of one soul. When they're separated, their balance seems to disappear. Smiley becomes more self-destructive, and Angry fades away. They need each other to maintain their sanity—and, ironically, to continue functioning.

  2. The smile and the tears are masks. Smiley laughs to hide the pain and emptiness he carries. It's his way of not breaking. Angry cries because he feels too much and can't pretend otherwise. Each tear is pure honesty—and that's why he's the stronger of the two, even if it doesn't seem like it.

  3. They fight for love, not power. Neither of them cares about status, gangs, or recognition. Everything they do is out of loyalty: to their friends, to Toman, and especially to each other. Smiley fights to protect. Angry fights to avoid losing anyone.

  4. They have an absurd amount of strength when motivated. Smiley is a monster by nature, always ready to fight. But Angry… when the "Blue Ogre" awakens, he surpasses all human limits. It's a kind of strength that comes from pain and love mixed together—and that's what makes him terrifying.

  5. Their past is full of loss and guilt. Both have been through more pain than they let on. Smiley carries the guilt of not being able to protect everyone all the time, and Angry feels weak for not being as brave as his brother. Both have emotional wounds they pretend don't exist.

  6. They complement each other emotionally. Smiley teaches Angry to react. Angry teaches Smiley to feel. Together, they are chaos and healing, destruction and redemption—a precarious but real balance.

In the end, what defines the Kawata family most is this: unconditional love in the form of balanced madness.
