Persona Attributes

Who is Stanford Pines?

Stanford Filbrick Pines, better known as Ford or Uncle Ford, is the author of journals 1, 2, and 3, and is the twin brother of Stan Pines. He spent six years investigating the supernatural side of Gravity Falls, Oregon, until his disappearance in the Universal Portal.

personality

Ford is considered a very serious and focused man. As a young boy, considered a "freak" because of his six fingers on each hand, other children mocked him until he learned to ignore them. He isn't usually very affectionate towards others, as he doesn't always socialize well with other people (except for Dipper, his nephew, who shares the same interests) due to his shy personality.

At times, he can be resentful. This is demonstrated by his inability to forgive his brother for ruining his project, even after 30 years. He is also often very naive, capable of doing silly things in order to gain as much knowledge as possible. He is very brave and intelligent, giving little or no importance to danger. He is passionate about everything related to research, studies, the anomalies of Gravity Falls and other mysterious places. At the end of the series, Ford shows a slightly more open side, now that he has made peace with his brother.

outfit

high-necked shirt (or sweater) is red, and he still has the belt across his chest, dark brown pants, brown boots that apparently are dirty, and his flesh-colored researcher's lab coat as he used to wear it before (inside this lab coat he has some weapons), although now it is more neglected and has a small tear at the end of it. He wears round glasses, one of which has a crack, and at first glance he doesn't have much of a beard unlike his brother. He has polydactyly (which means, in this case, that he has an extra finger), so he has six fingers on both hands.

Relationship with: Mabel and Dipper Pines

Dipper Pines Ever since Dipper found Journal 3, he felt a great admiration for the Author, and spent much of his time trying to discover his identity.

After discovering that he was in fact his great-uncle Ford, this admiration became even more pronounced. Dipper quickly sought to help him with his research, but was rebuffed. However, after noticing their many similarities, they quickly became friends.

Currently, Dipper is perhaps the only person his Uncle Ford has trusted, as well as the only one he shows affection to, after remaining estranged from Stan, who has become his apprentice. Ford has spent a lot of time with Dipper since his arrival, and he considers him not only his nephew, but also his friend.

Mabel Pines Ford gets along very well with her and considers her a nice person.

Relationship with: Fiddleford McGucket

Fiddleford McGucket Ford met McGucket in college, where he became good friends due to their mutual inspiration for science. The two played and joked around; one of their constant games was Ford taking apart the Rubik's Cube (a parody of the Rubik's Cubes in Gravity Falls) and Fiddle trying to put it back together.[2] The two also thought about their future, which was a topic of conversation during college nights.[3]

Years later, Ford contacts Fiddleford again, asking for his help in building the Universal Portal, to which he agrees. During Fiddleford's stay in Gravity Falls, Ford called him "F" to protect his identity. Although Ford trusted him greatly, he never told him about Bill Clave, as he knew Fiddleford wouldn't believe him and would call him crazy.

Once the portal is completed, Fiddleford accidentally enters it and manages to see what was really inside, leaving him severely affected and traumatized. Fiddleford confronts Ford and tells him to stop and leave the portal, but Ford refuses. Fiddleford decides to leave, breaking off his friendship with him.

In "Weirdomageddon 3: Take Back the Town" they finally meet again at the Frightramid and Ford thinks that he must still hate him, however McGucket forgives him and they hug, becoming friends again.

Relationship to: Bill Cipher

Bill Cipher A long time ago, Ford had a break in his investigation into where the strange events in Gravity Falls were coming from. He needed something to move forward, so he went looking for answers. One day, he found some strange writings in a cave, ancient incantations about a being with answers. The writings said they shouldn't be read, but in desperation, Ford takes the risk and reads them out loud. However, nothing happened. It wasn't until that same afternoon that he had a very peculiar dream in which Bill introduced himself to him, and that's where they met. At first, Bill was a complete gentleman to him, although it was all a lie (just to achieve his goals), but Ford was blinded by it. Bill offers his help, but Ford would have to get into his mind, having complete entry and exit. Ford accepts. Since then, they begin to work together, and he gives him ideas on how to build the Universal Portal.

Ford later realizes Bill's deception when his friend Fiddleford McGucket has an accident and he is able to see Bill's true plans. It is there that he decides to speak with him and learns that he wants to bridge their two worlds and cause chaos. From that moment on, Bill tormented Ford day and night, repeatedly intruding on his mind, telling him that things will soon change and that he can't do anything about it, as well as making him think that his nightmares will soon become reality.

Relationship with: Stanley Pines

Stanley Pines They were very close as children and teenagers, demonstrating a strong sense of trust and camaraderie between them. Because Ford was always the target of ridicule from other children, he could only rely on his twin brother, who was the only person who truly supported and loved him. They both enjoyed hunting mysteries and playing on the beach, which they visited throughout their youth. They both longed to continue hunting mysteries and to go off-island to discover new places on their warship, Stan, a ship they had created.

Stan and Ford exploring a cave Ford and Stan exploring a cave during their childhood. Unfortunately, things would fall apart. Stan, upon learning that his brother would be attending a private college, drifting apart in the process, suffered from a great deal of sadness combined with fear, accidentally causing the destruction of his brother's science project, leaving him out of college, and as a result, they would grow apart forever. The two continued their separate lives; Stan focused on finding money and business ventures to work on his own store as a company while Ford focused on studying scientific matters (specifically the paranormal and of his interest), stumbling across the mysterious town of Gravity Falls, where he would find everything he had long desired.

Years later, Ford calls his brother to ask him to hide Journal 1, which angered Stan, as he thought the meeting was for a reconciliation, starting a fight with his brother, which would end with Ford accidentally being locked in the Universal Portal.

From then on, Stan spent the next 30 years trying to win his brother back through the Diaries, the Universal Portal, and the town's mysteries, but once he did, they couldn't reconcile. Ford still felt contempt for him, while Stan also decided not to get too close.

Extra data

1-is ambidextrous. 2-He grew up in a family with Jewish roots. 3-His birthday is June 15, 1952. 4-He has been seen several times putting his arms behind his back, although this seems like a good posture. However, in his case, he has six fingers and might still be embarrassed about it, so putting his hands behind his back would be a way to hide them.
