Who is it?
He's one of the main characters in the Pocket Monsters Special manga. He's from Spring Town and has lived with Pokémon since he was a child, which is why his neighbors called him "Pokémon Boy." His skill is raising Pokémon.
Personality and characteristics of him!
He's a very energetic boy and a great athlete. He has a cocky personality, but deep down, he has a big heart and a strong sense of justice. He always wears shorts, a red sweatshirt, a backwards cap, and his signature goggles, which he uses when skateboarding, flying, and diving underwater. He has bangs that make him look cool. In addition to all this, he also carries a pool cue. At first, he appears quite childish, adding a humorous touch with his quirky personality. However, in later sagas, we see a more mature and even serious Gold when the situation calls for it.
He is an expert pool player. This is demonstrated several times when he throws his Poké Balls using a pool cue. He is careful, but crazy, and has a weakness for girls, doing things he shouldn't do. However, he is also brave, as he entered the time vortex created by Celebi to pursue the Masked Man, whom he manages to defeat, leaving the villain trapped in time. He reappears in the Emerald Saga, where he doesn't appear until the final parts.
He meets Silver, a sinister thief who seems to have been linked to the Masked Man. Gold tried to stop him after he stole the Totodile from Professor Elm's laboratory. They fought frequently, but little by little, their relationship turned into friendship and rivalry. He also meets Crystal, Professor Oak's assistant and expert in catching Pokémon. Together, Crystal, Silver, and Gold form a strong team and fight to defeat Neo Team Rocket.
Since he's lived with Pokémon his entire life and brings out the full potential of a newborn, his skill, according to Professor Oak, is raising Pokémon. Because of this, his fellow residents of Spring Town call him "Pokémon Boy."
He's undoubtedly the most extroverted of all the characters, as he knows nothing about embarrassment and doesn't hold back. He's very outgoing.
Him in the saga: "Gold, Silver and Crystal" (PT.1)
Since he was very young, Gold was raised alongside his Pokémon, the closest being an Aipom, named Ataro, who is his faithful companion.
One night, while listening to Rosa's radio show, someone appeared in her yard. Gold thought it was a thief, but it was actually Chano. Her bag had been stolen by a Murkrow, who had left it on a tree in Gold's yard. The bag contained some important documents from Professor Oak, which were supposed to be sent to Professor Elm. Gold decided to accompany Chano so he could have the opportunity to meet Rosa, who hosted the radio show with Professor Oak.
On the way to Professor Elm's Pokémon Lab, Gold and Chano encounter Silver, who had stolen a Totodile and a Pokédex. In order to fight him, Gold "borrows" the Cyndaquil that was in the lab, which he named Explotaro. The fight is interrupted by Team Rocket, who came to steal the documents that Professor Oak had sent. During all this commotion, Silver managed to escape, leaving behind his glove, which was found by Gold.
After this altercation, Professor Elm is sent to the hospital, while Gold and Chano go in search of Silver to recover the Totodile. During this journey, they meet Professor Oak, who gives Gold a Pokédex, on the condition that he use it for good and help him complete it.
After receiving his Pokédex, Gold asks Chano to take his Pokémon home, but they later realize that his Poliwag, named Politaro, was missing, so Gold starts looking for him.
Him in the saga: "Gold, Silver and Crystal" (PT.2)
In search of Politaro, Gold arrives in Mauve City, where he captures a thief riding a Donphan, whom he asks if Silver was part of his gang of criminals, but a young lady tells him that she saw him enter Bellsprout Tower, so Gold decides to enter from the outside by climbing the tower. Upon entering, he encounters several Thinkers who are training and who begin to attack Gold for refusing to continue the training, but thanks to Explotaro, our protagonist manages to defeat the Thinkers' Bellsprouts. Once the fight is over, Gold meets Silver and they face each other once more.
In this second battle against Silver, Totodile and Cyndaquil face each other, but thanks to the smoke screen used by Gold's Pokémon, traps in the tower are activated and a steel ball falls, which thanks to the teamwork of both trainers and Pokémon is destroyed and both emerge unharmed. In the end, Silver escapes. After the fight, Gold decides to rest, but he meets Pegasus, who is a Flying-type Pokémon trainer and helps him defeat a Skarmory, for this Gold captures a Sunkern, which carries Explotaro in its leaves, reaching Skarmory in the air and weakening it using Ember, then capturing it and giving it to Pegasus.
Continuing his search for Politaro, Gold arrives at the Alpha Ruins, where he meets Anton, mistaking him for a girl. After introducing himself, Explotaro breaks the wall of a ruin and they enter where they find some symbols written on the wall, these symbols are the Unown. After solving a puzzle, Team Rocket appears and attacks Gold and Anton, but thanks to the Sunkern, which Gold named Suntaro, they manage to save themselves and awaken the Unown, being able to leave the ruin and leaving Team Rocket trapped inside. Anton tells Gold that on Route 32, there are many lost Pokémon and there he could find Politaro.
Him in the saga: "Gold, Silver and Crystal" (PT.3)
Route 32 is the fishing area, where David tells him that there is indeed a thief. Then this thief appears, and it's a Granbull, and in addition to stealing Politaro, he had also stolen other Pokémon. Gold calls Chano to tell him he found his Pokémon, and while he was talking on the Poké Gear, Professor Elm's assistant appears and gives Gold a Pokémon egg.
Upon arriving in Azalea Town, Gold sees a fruit on a tree, which he bites and turns out to be very hard. A girl tells him that it was not just any fruit, but a bonguri, which are used to make Pokéballs and her grandfather Cesar was the one who made them. Gold makes fun of his Pokéballs and Cesar tells him that he will never make one for him because he will not know how to use it, this annoys Gold who sets a challenge which consisted of the following: He would show how easy it is to use the Pokéballs made with bonguri by catching a Pokémon, but if he failed he would become Cesar's apprentice for the rest of his life. Cesar makes him a Friend Ball, with which Gold plans to capture a Teddiursa and give it to Millie, but when he finds the Pokémon, it is accompanied by an Ursaring, who attacks Gold and Millie. At that moment, Silver appears who wanted to capture the Ursaring, and at the end of a hard battle Silver and Gold capture their respective Pokémon. When he enters the Holm Oak to continue the search for Silver, on his way he gets lost and finds an unconscious trainer and his Farfetch'd in the same state, so he decides to help them, but then he realizes that there was a Gastly controlling them. Unable to fight, they decide to escape, but then they are cornered by a Delibird, an Ariados, a Gastly and a Houndour, so he decides to fight, but is surpassed by the speed of the wild Pokémon, but then he realizes that they are not wild Pokémon, but belong to a masked trainer.
Him in the saga: "Gold, Silver and Crystal" (PT.4)
A fight breaks out, but thanks to Explotaro's smokescreen, they manage to escape and climb a tree. The masked trainer's Houndour and Delibird hit the trees to make Gold fall, but a glow appears at a shrine, causing the masked trainer to change his plans. While he was distracted, Gold takes the opportunity to hit him, but is intercepted by Ariados's web. The subject mocks the protagonist and leaves. The next day, Gold is at a Pokémon Center healing his wounds.
Gold and his Pokémon team arrive in Wheat City and decide to spend the night on the outskirts. While they were sleeping, a Smeargle scratched Gold's face. The next morning, it began chasing him throughout the city. After failing to catch it, he meets the president of the Wheat City radio station and asks him if he wants to be the guest on a show. Gold is taken to the radio facilities, where he finds the Smeargle that attacked him and discovers that it belonged to Blanca, but she gave it to Rosa. The two cause a scene that ends the recording of the show, but the argument doesn't end there. It continues with a challenge: a Pokémon race that will be broadcast live. At the start of the race, Blanca attacks Gold with her Miltank, causing him to take the lead. Further ahead, the path is blocked by a giant tree. In order to advance, the competitors begin attacking the tree, but the only thing that does damage is Politaro's water gun. However, the tree didn't react, and a wild Rhydon appeared and kidnapped Blanca. While the media went to rescue her, Gold discovered that the tree was a Sudowoodo that was hiding from the Rhydon. Gold captured it so that it could fight Rhydon and rescue the Gym Leader.
Final "Gold, Silver and Crystal" (PT.1)
Upon learning the Masked Man's true identity, Fredo defeats Gold and manages to escape. At that moment, Yasmina's grandparents deliver a letter written by Professor Oak to our defeated protagonist, in which he explained that all the trainers to whom he had given a Pokédex had a special ability, but Gold realized that he didn't have any and despaired. At that moment, Yellow's uncle finished reading the letter at the same time that a Pikachu egg was born. At that moment, they understood that Gold was a Pokémon breeder. From the egg a Pichu was born and at that same moment an aurora fell from the sky that teleported the protagonist, who appeared prisoner in the portal of the Encinar sanctuary, but thanks to Yellow having the feathers in his hat to travel through time, they were able to free Gold and riding on Raikou, our three protagonists began their journey through time. Inside limbo, Gold says goodbye to Silver and Crystal, gives each of them the feathers and goes in search of Fredo with the help of Celebi, who had gone ahead of them. After reaching Fredo, the fight begins, where Gold uses his newborn Pichu, who, with the help of Raikou's powers, increases his electric attacks making him extremely powerful, capable of destroying Fredo's ice shield and also the GS Ball, freeing Celebi and both being trapped in time, but thanks to the Time Pokémon, Gold managed to return to the present time and everything ended.
Once everything was calm, Gold groped Green, which upset Silver, who hit our flirtatious protagonist. Meanwhile, while Red was talking to Misty on the Poké Gear, a rather tense situation arose, and Gold took the opportunity to take Red, with the excuse that he would take him to train. That's why the Pokémon League champion and our Pokémon breeder went to train on Mount Silver, thus ending this story.
Special Chapter and Emerald Saga
Red takes Gold to Mount Silver, where they begin training Pichu's electric moves. During their training, he meets the director of the radio station, who asks Red for an interview. Gold gets angry and they are attacked by some wild Pokémon, which Red defeats. Gold, seeing this, decides to train harder. Some time later, he accompanies Red to his house, where they learn more information about the move Electric Tackle. Red tells him to stay at his house, as he has to meet with Blue. During his stay at his house, he learns that a virus is infecting devices in space.
In the Emerald Saga, Gold is asked by Professor Oak to accompany Crystal to the Battle Frontier, where he obtains a fake suit of armor. When Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire, and Sabino arrive at the Battle Tower and part ways, our three protagonists arrive at the Pokédex Keepers Room, where they learn that there are other trainers who, like them, are special trainers.
Gold appears and scares everyone, but he tells them that he is there to help them, when Guile Hideout finds out this, he cuts Gold's armor, but Gold takes the opportunity to attack him.
When Guile manages to fulfill his wish of having a water monster, Gold along with the other Pokédex owners join forces to defeat it.
