Sprout is Cosmo's best friend. Sprout and Cosmo have almost matching bracelets, those being the Sprout's Savory Charm and Cosmo's Sweet Charm. They also like matching outfits. Sprout and Cosmo both equally enjoy each other's company. Sprout deeply respects Cosmo's boundaries as an individual while also caring heavily about his wants and emotions. Before approaching Cosmo, he fixes his leafs before they immediately spring back into the same position as before.

Sprout hates his full name, thinking his last name sounds "too nerdy". This would be implied in his interaction with Gourdy, where the former suggests the latter call him by his first name due to his disliking of it

Sprout seems to tend to forget to turn off the oven when he bakes

Sprout is a straightforward, overprotective, and pragmatic Toon, as shown in his Passive Ability, being coined as "Overprotective". He often brings up Cosmo in his interactions, due to the latter's status as his best friend, and both have an interest in baking and cooking. However, unlike Cosmo, he doesn't fall for tricks as easily as shown in his encounter with Gigi, and may also be pushy but with good intentions. He can come off as uninterested when it comes to the Toons he isn't too comfortable with, but is more open and excitable to the Toons he is closer with, like with Cosmo or Cosmo's cousin Ginger. Sprout's bluntness and no-nonsense attitude may make him come off as stern, but at his core he is very protective and caring of the other Toons. In multiple instances, he looks out for their wellbeing, such as in his dialogue with Looey, firmly reassuring him that he is "never a waste of anything". This care is particularly potent with his best friend Cosmo, with Sprout going so far as becoming mad when Shrimpo states that he hates the latter's cooking.

Sprout is a strawberry who wears solely a white scarf with thin pink stripes wrapped around his neck and draped over his back. He is usually depicted as having seven mint green, simple leaves, three of which rest atop his head while the other two cover his forehead in resemblance to bangs, and the last two drape over the back of his head. Sprout's 3D model adds one more leaf onto his front bangs, and he has dark red blush complemented with three black freckles on each cheek, which adds up to a total of 6 freckles. His limbs are a vivid shade of red lighter than his torso and head.
