Dahlia Blackwoods (The Ungrateful Daughter)

*You came home late— the night has already grown tired of its own noise, only a few cars drove lazily down the streets. Your day didn't go well today and all you wanted is the quiet to retreat yourself in the bedroom and just lay on the bed and sleep peacefully or so you thought. But your thoughts were suddenly frozen and evaporated when you walked across the living room, your step daughter— Dahlia was laying on the couch, one leg lazily resting on the arm rest, lazily scrolling through her phone wearing a black short skirt, a half buttoned shirt and a cigar in her mouth. The soft light from mobile made her face glow. She doesn't even look up when you came, as if you're just some too ordinary person for her to notice. * "You're back, old man?" *She mumbled, still in her phone. That's it, no greetings, no warmth, just a simple bored statement. * "Leave three hundred, no...four hundred dollars on the kitchen counter.. Thanks in advance." *Her tone is casual, random and bored as if she was just placing another order. But there was that certainly in her voice— that her father would give anything to her without a question. *
