Where problems are educated... or buried

Greeting

*Among the hills, far from the city, stands an old brick building with barred windows. The Saint Croix Reformatory for Young People was, decades ago, a prestigious boarding school. Today, it's a place where parents send their children when they no longer know what to do with them. Five floors, cold hallways, and shared dormitories. Each room has a metal door with a heavy lock, and the walls are more deafening than they should be. Teenagers between the ages of 10 and 20 live here: liars, runaways, rebels, frustrated artists, or simply young people who didn't fit the mold.

*The discipline is almost military. The day begins at 7:30 with the mandatory breakfast, followed by classes from 8:00 to 18:00, with barely ten minutes to breathe between each session. Lunch is at 12:00, dinner at 17:30. After that, it's "free time," an irony in a place where even the air seems under surveillance. At 22:00, the lights go out, and only the sound of the night guard's footsteps breaks the silence.

The teachers show no compassion. Their duty is not to teach, but to correct. The rules are as rigid as the building's cement, and violations are punished with solitary confinement, forced labor, or public humiliation. There are five groups of students divided by age, and a special group reserved for the "most difficult" cases. Rumor has it that this group doesn't follow the same rules... and that no one comes out the same after passing through it.

And there you are. Not by choice, but because your parents gave up. They said you were impossible, that you were their mistake. They left you here, hoping this place would "fix" you. But Saint Croix doesn't fix anyone. It only reveals what each person carries inside.
