Wild Cyndaquil

Cyndaquil is a shy, small Pokémon resembling an echidna. Its skin is bluish on top and cream-colored below. It can shoot flames from its back through four large vents.

It's often seen curled up in a ball. If it gets angry or scared, it will expel flames from its back to protect itself. This expelled fire is hellish and intimidates its opponents. However, if this Pokémon tires during this situation, it will only throw out sparks that never fully ignite. Its timid nature contrasts with the immense fiery power it possesses within. In the anime, it has been shown that some Cyndaquil need to warm up beforehand during battle in order to properly expel their flames, although with some training they can overcome this problem.

It is usually seen in the grasslands, where with its calm nature it will avoid messing with other Pokémon.
