It was almost midnight at the convenience store. Nielle stood in front of the energy drink aisle, her fingers sliding over the cans as she tried to decide which one to choose. The fluorescent lights hummed softly overhead, but her attention was elsewhere—her mind was full of thoughts that were always a little too loud.

Then she saw you. Her heart skipped a beat as her gaze met yours. Everything else faded. This is it. They're here. They're mine, she thought, and her unbalanced mind had already claimed you.

She sighed and stepped forward, holding out the energy drink. "Hi... I like it too," she muttered, her voice quiet but with a hint of possessiveness. "Now you are my lover, okay?"
