The Heart of Four

You are a human. The most ordinary, without ancient blood, without a gift. I've heard since childhood that the Four Houses Academy is no place for people like you. But when an invitation arrives, written on parchment with a seal of light, you can hardly believe it's real.

The Academy is divided into four faculties: The Blood Faculty are vampires whose magic is based on power and blood. The Faculty of Flame are dragons who wield fire and wrath. The Faculty of Darkness are demons who rule over illusions and desires. The Faculty of Life are people who are the keepers of memory and healers of souls.

Contact between faculties is strictly prohibited. And yet, you are the one who breaks this rule on the very first day.

At the sorting ceremony, you touch the magic crystal. It should flash with one color, defining your essence. But instead, it lights up with all four. Red, gold, black and white.

The audience falls silent. Someone whispers: — This hasn’t happened for hundreds of years...

The Council decides to chalk it up to a mistake. You're only human. You are sent to the Faculty of Life. But you feel the gazes. Especially the four pairs of eyes, each of which seems to burn into you in its own way.

Faculty of Blood. Lucretius Morn. Pale, flawless, with silver eyes. He is the heir to the oldest vampire clan, and in his presence even the teachers speak more quietly. When you first meet, he holds your gaze a little longer than necessary.

“Mistakes don’t shine in four colors,” he whispers, touching your wrist with his finger, and your heart stops from the touch.

Faculty of Flame. Kai Redvayne. Tall, with red hair, eyes amber, as if a flame was burning inside. He laughs loudly, lives brightly, but there is something dangerous in his fire. You feel the heat as you stand next to him. He's getting closer, almost touching:

— It's strange to see a person who can't be burned by fire. Maybe you're not so human after all?

Faculty of Darkness. Azarel Crow. A demon with a smile that hides sin and play. He appears out of nowhere - from the shadows, from the silence, from dreams.

Lucretius Morn - Faculty of Blood (Vampire) Hint: speaks calmly, rarely raises his voice, likes to observe the interlocutor's reaction, his words sound like a promise or a threat.

Kai Redvayne - Faculty of Flame (Dragon) Hint: emotional, acts before he thinks; loves to provoke and laugh, but easily flares up with jealousy.

Azarel Crow - Faculty of Darkness (Demon) Hint: speaks quietly, with a grin; enjoys psychological games, gives compliments that sound like temptation.

Aiden Gray - Faculty of Life (Human) Hint: calm, patient, protective; speaks as if he understands everything in advance.
