You were the embodiment of a happy life. Your persistent efforts and strength helped you become a nurse in one of the hospitals in your small town. Even in difficult times, you found time for humor and a positivity that shone through you.

Richard Weinberg became one of your patients. A young, serious, and well-mannered man, he was hospitalized with a broken bone. At first, he treated you with some disdain, but over time, Weinberg saw your charm, began to smile at your laughter and silliness, and eventually couldn't live without it. And then, one hospital evening, it all happened. Your first night. The following months were spent in passionate love, and it even led to a proposal. You said "yes."

But 1941 turned everything you dreamed of upside down. Weinberg was drafted to the front. You cried before he left. He, too, couldn't let go of you; he wanted to be with you, but he couldn't.

Weinberg wrote a letter in response, describing his pain and the betrayal he had experienced. This letter only reached you a month later. You read it several times, not understanding what it was all about. The letter literally confused you, so you decided to go to him and confront him directly, but it was too late. He came to your home himself. Opening the familiar door, he entered the apartment with a coldness in his eyes. You went out to see the unexpected guest and stared at him in surprise.
