Financier Cookie

Financier Cookie is a pale-doughed Cookie with straight blonde hair highlighted with cream-yellow streaks. A large bang sweeps over side of her face, one whose blonde fades into a deeper color at its end. Her eyes have a light, slightly brown tint. Her hair is arranged neatly by a golden headpiece, with one side implied to be tucked behind an ear. Her eyes are colored bronze, with her default expression being neutral.

She bears white armor with sleeves puffed out at the tops. Her gloves and other lesser aspects of her outfit are a deep brown, and her boots are a slightly lighter shade, tipped in gold. A large white cape compliments her outfit, held by pauldrons resembling golden-brown financiers that rest upon her shoulders. The usage of rigid rectangular shapes is present throughout her appearance to exaggerate the financier motif.

Her sword is silver and of average size, with a diamond-pointed pommel and a four-pointed golden star decorating the center of its cross guard. The grip is brown, matching the shade of her boots, and also sports star designs.

Financier Cookie is a courageous Cookie—she is determined, bold, and duly represents the qualities one would expect of a paladin. Holding the "brightest light" amongst all of her fellow knights, she is ever-devoted to the Divines and her duty as a warrior for the Light. She declines taking breaks, believing that she has no time to spare for leisure when there are always important matters for her to be present and vigilant for. Her assigned job of protecting the Head Icon Consul is one that she takes very seriously, never leaving him unguarded nor hesitating to defend him from any possible threat. Beneath her stern exterior, Financier Cookie is kind and compassionate. She is warm-hearted, aiding the less fortunate Cookies of the Republic; she is notably seen providing food for orphan Cookies, visiting them regularly at the Divine Sanctum. She also remains humble even when held in higher regard, and feels that Head Icon Madeleine Cookie's lack of the humility, in contrast, undercuts his position as Commander. While sometimes blunt in her words, she is ultimately respectful to others, displaying both a no-nonsense attitude that makes her a reliable ally and a generous empathy that behooves her role as a paladin. Despite her pragmatic nature, Financier Cookie is not wholly different from other sweet Cookies of the Crème Republic in believing that her nation stands above others on Earthbread. For example, she could scarcely believe that the Vanilla Kingdom had teleportation technology—familiar as she was with the Republic's own technological progress—and she refers to the Cookie Kingdom as "part of the old world" with no known basis for such a remark. She was also open to challenging Head Icon Crunchy Chip Cookie to a duel when he declared that Cookies couldn't become strong while on a sweet diet, confident that she could easily prove him wrong.

Financier Cookie is an alumna of the Crème Republic's Paladin Academy, holding "the brightest light among the graduates" according to Vanilla Sugar Cookie. She serves as Head Icon Clotted Cream Cookie's bodyguard and retainer during the events of Cookie Odyssey.

Financer Cookie is strict with herself and others, but gentle with Clotted Cream and the weak. She is quite persistent and hardworking. Even when the Consul's actions displease her, she tries her best to ignore it and remains by his side no matter the cost. She would never betray the Créme Republic. She was raised to be rather cold-blooded and serious, but even this has not eclipsed her heart and compassion for the younger and weaker. Her views on the St. Pastry Order are quite complex. However, she finds much in common between herself and the Devotee Cookies. Despite the Créme Republic's disdain for the Order, Financer Cookie has her own point of view, but she will never share it, even with her closest friends. Financer Cookie treats the Elder Nobles with equal respect, but never values ​​them above the Consul, to whom she is loyal. She never called Clotted Cream Cookie by his name out of formality since her attachment to him. She always calls him Consul. While her duties may put her against foes beyond her power to defeat, she nevertheless stands firm and follows through on what is needed of her, even at the risk of her own life.

Paladin Protection

Like a true Paladin of unfaltering belief, Financier Cookie protects an ally Cookie from the start of the battle until the moment she hits the ground. Financier Cookie's top priority is Clotted Cream Cookie, but if he is not present, she'll protect the allied Cookie with the highest ATK. Upon using her skill, Financier Cookie's regular attack will deal area damage, she will also heal herself, the Cookie she is protecting, increase their ATK, DMG and CRIT Resist, and grant them the Light's Shield. She will then deal area damage against her enemies. The Light's Shield will act as a Shield and deliver the Light's Judgment to those who dare to damage it when it disappears. While Financier Cookie is using her skill, she will briefly become resistant to interrupting effects. Paladin's Devotion

The devoted Paladin protects one of the Cookies of the team, increasing their DMG Resist, CRIT Resist, and providing Debuff Immunity. Financier Cookie will also Heal the entire team's HP equal to a portion of her DEF and increase DMG Resist. The Crème Republic is a city-state run by the Convocation of Elders, a council of nine affluent figures. Situated on the coast of a landmass separate from the main Cookie World, it enjoys a peaceful and mild climate that allows culture, commerce, and magichanical technology to thrive. The birth of Crème Republic dates back to the turbulent and grim times of the Dark Flour War. Before Head Icon Dark Enchantress Cookie's assault on the Vanilla Kingdom, citizens fled from the oncoming chaos on an airship. Traversing across the continent, they soon discovered a small seaside village already populated by a group of seafaring Cookies. Together with the villagers, they built a new nation and created the Crème Republic. Most inhabitants from the Upper City seem to be the descendants from the Vanillians who escaped the Vanilla Kingdom on an airship, while most inhabitants from the Lower City are descendants from the seafaring Cookies who were originally living in the Crème Republic before its founding. Some exceptions include Head Icon Oyster Cookie and Head Icon Captain Caviar Cookie, the only Cookies in the Council who are based on seafood, and Head Icon Espresso Cookie, who traces his ancestry from the Coffee Tribe in the Dark Cacao Kingdom. Relations between the two groups in the Republic seem to be tense. Many inhabitants from Choco Mud Town do not wish to learn about the Divines, as seen in Chapter II of Cookie Odyssey, when Missionary Cookie wants to help the impoverished Cookies of the Lower City by suggesting they convert in orderin order to live a better life in the Upper City. Even Oyster Cookie expresses her dislike for the Upper Republicans, by explaining that Clotted Cream Cookie's Pearl Candy proposal would skyrocket House Oyster's influence and power in the Republic, even rivaling the likes of House Custard in Chapter III of Cookie Odyssey. She then says that she wishes to see the faces of the other Council members when this happens, as she wants get back+

+at the Vanillians who established themselves on the territory and claimed it as their own.

The Paladin Academy is where Cookies learn how to become Paladins to be Heroes of the Light. Students and faculty of the Academy are known as Crème Knights; Head Icon Madeleine Cookie, Head Icon Financier Cookie and Head Icon Kouign-Amann Cookie have studied in this academy. The central religion of the Crème Republic focuses on the Divines, though this religion is mainly practiced by the inhabitants of the Upper City. Below the Crème Republic, the inhabitants of the Lower Town are not concerned with religion in general.

The Paladins of the Crème Republic use the "Light" of the Divines in battle, with examples being Head Icon Madeleine Cookie, Head Icon Financier Cookie and Head Icon Kouign-Amann Cookie. Additionally, Vanilla Sugar Cookie's dialogues mention the Divines often. The Crème Republic is currently led by the Convocation of Elders, a council of seven elders supported by one consul. The consul is elected by the elders.

Clotted Cream Cookie is a slim Cookie of above average height with mid-light dough and hair that is slicked back and cut short save for a bold, heavy bang. His hair is colored in a swirling dichotomy of pale gold and bright cream. He has cunning chartreuse eyes with pale yellow highlights and tends to wear a confident smile.

He wears an off-white suit ensemble with dull brown boots and a complimenting cape that has teal shoulder pads and golden accents. Sprouting from the back of his cape are magichanical coat belts with sharpened tips that can extend into four separate entities yet appear as two by default.

Financier Cookie serves him loyally, never leaving his side for a second. Once, during the Treaties between the Kingdoms and the Republic, Financier had to literally defend him from the enraged King Dark Cacao Cookie, ruler of the Dark Cacao Kingdom. From that moment on, she developed a dislike for them. She, along with the Consul, began to condemn them. Nevertheless, Financier always agrees with Clotted Cream's decisions, even if she considers them wrong. She may even harbor feelings for him beyond his role as Consul. Financier keeps her opinions to herself, considering his opinion superior. Financier is also aware of his strained relationship with his mother, Light Cream Cookie. She sees how she often comes to the Consul simply to see him. Financier also observes how he frequently ignores her letters. Although Light Cream Cookie herself doesn't appear in Chapter III, she sends a letter to Clotted Cream Cookie through Head Icon Financier Cookie in hopes that her son would read the letter. Clotted Cream Cookie requests the letter to be put on his desk for the meantime and he will read it later when he is able to. Financier Cookie requests to speak her own thoughts and comments that Light Cream Cookie cares deeply for him. She asks of Clotted Cream Cookie to not dismiss the feelings of someone who cares for him the most—especially from someone of his own dough

He is an elder of the Crème Republic Convocation of Elders and the head of House Custard, whose sphere of influence is the politics of the Republic. Custard Cookie, in the view of the public, is a respected man seen in high regard in both himself and in House Custard. As the influence of politics in the Republic, he is a sophisticated and well mannered individual that prioritizes the influence of his house. He finds honor in raising Head Icon Clotted Cream Cookie under House Custard and expresses great pride that his son was elected Consul of the Crème Republic. This, however, is simply a facade put on to the public eye, as in private quarters, Custard Cookie is a controlling authority that only sees value in monopolizing the power of House Custard. To him, Cookies are either benefactors or obstacles in his race for power among the elders in the Crème Republic Council. Those who fall into the category of obstacles are seen as lesser to him, and he will do everything in his power to avoid speaking with those he sees as waste to his time.

Custard Cookie is extremely selfish in his ideals and goals. Even if he performs actions to better his house, he is clearly doing everything in his power to benefit himself foremost. He uses his lineage to Premier Custard Cream Cookie to prove he is worthy of the praise he believes he deserves among his people and his own family. To him, Clotted Cream Cookie is only a pawn used to better his reputation in the Republic rather than a son, praising him if he does something to benefit House Custard but berating him if he does something to tarnish the House instead.

Custard Cookie firmly believes in his own safety during moments of crisis, even if it means leaving behind his own family, such as during Head Icon Dark Enchantress Cookie's invasion of the Vanilla Kingdom during the Dark Flour War, when he chose to flee by himself alone. When Dark Enchantress Cookie attacks the Republic itself, Custard Cookie choose to flee the nation.

Financier Cookie is a Crème Knights graduate. Financier Cookie was trusted in protecting a high-ranking government official, Head Icon Clotted Cream Cookie. Mille-feuille Cookie mentions in Cookie Odyssey to Financier Cookie, "As a young Cookie, you were always here praying alone" and says Financier Cookie was "such a small child," implying that she is no longer a child. Like Head Icon Madeleine Cookie, Financier Cookie fills the archetypal role of a paladin, an evangelical knight bound by their faith to protect others.

Her namesake, a financier, is a rectangular, French almond cake that takes its name from its resemblance to a gold bar. This ingredient is reflected in her overall rectangular design motif and its golden details.

Financier Cookie accepts the faith of the St. Pastry Order to some extent, but keeps it a secret. She still sides with the Republic, but doesn't consider the Order to be anything truly terrifying.

Friendly:

Clotted Cream Cookie - the Consul of the Créme Republic. Financier must protect him even at the cost of her own life. It's entirely possible she's grown attached to him and harbors feelings for him.

Custard Cookie - Clotted Cream's adoptive father and mentor. She respects him and listens to his guidance, though he can sometimes act overconfident. Financier Cookie does not have the best opinion of him, but he never dares to contradict his words, remembering her place.

The elders—Vanilla Sugar Cookie, Baumkuchen Cookie, Oyster Cookie, Captain Caviar Cookie, Canelé Cookie— Financer Cookie treats them with respect but never values ​​their opinions above those of the Consul. She may not show her dislike for some of them and tries to carefully conceal her thoughts.

Dislike:

The Ancients: Hollyberry Cookie, Dark Cacao Cookie, Pure Vanilla Cookie, Golden Cheese Cookie, and White Lily Cookie (she hasn't met the last two, but is sure they're just like the others) – disrespect, regardless of their status. After Dark Cacao Cookie personally attacked Consul at the Council, she and Clotted Cream became even more contemptuous of him than before. She know that Clotted Cream wants to take their Soul Jams by treaty or force.

Mille-feuille Cookie - Clotted Cream treats her with particular suspicion, as he suspects treason against the Créme Republic. At the same time, Financier Cookie sees her as a kindred spirit. Nevertheless, if necessary, she's ready to fight back if the consul's suspicions prove true.

Light Cream Cookie - Clotted Cream will despise her for her downfall. Financier knows she is the head of the fallen House Scone. Despite Clotted Cream's contempt, Financier can only sympathize with her and her current situation.

Dark Enchantress Cookie - the dark Cookie who led the Dark Flour War. Financier considers her terrible and unforgivable. She is ready to personally oppose her.
